Front vs. Rear Oil Pressure Regulator?
This may be a dumb question, but I have to ask:
I read recently about someone modifying their "front" oil pressure regulator. I thought the pressure regulator was at the rear of the engine (near the oil filter tower). What is this front regulator all about?

it is located in the bottom of the front cover. you can put a a few washers behind the spring to shim it out a specific distance and create higher oil pressure. this mod is commonly used with a FD oil pressure regulator or a RB unit.

why does it need a front and rear regulator? Does anyone have a schematic of the rotary oiling system? I was confused when I got a rotary and heard of these pressure regulators. What about the one in the front crank pulley bolt?

The rear Oil Pressure Regulator is what controls your engine oil pressure.
As for the front regulator.. I dont really see a need for it since you do have the rear OPR? Unless maybe some kind or over presure protection for the oil cooler and lines on a cold cold day? Im In LA so those really dont count for me.
Ive seen builds totally bypassing it, thus eliminating the front cover oring issue. Im considering option with this new block im building.
The oil diagram is in the Lubrication chapter of the FSMs

Yo, quick question related to the topic. I don't even get a signal from my oil pressure gauge. I know this is bad cuz if the oil pressure would ever drop I might fry my engine if I wasn't looking. Other than a faulty sender unit is there anything else it could be?

Another (related) question: After the rear oil p-regulator and oil filter, oil gets distributed to (a) the bearings; and (b) the inside of the e-shaft, where it then gets sprayed outward into the rotors.
Question: how does oil get into the e-shaft? Through the rear stationary gear? Or?
