Engine kills at idle/radio problem 93 FD

my 1993 RX7 automatic transmission kills at idle (sometimes) on me like when i get to red light and have to stop. it will rev at 400 RPM sometimes 100 RPM at idle. and on a side note my radio/cassette(stock) player stop working on me. I've changed all the fuses already thinking it was that but didn't work. the clock doesn't even get displayed but when i have my lights on it will have the back light on any ideas what could be the the problem

i have the exact same prob except its for a 82, the little clock inside isnt working and neither is the deck, and ya when you idle sometimes it just dies, mine has a choke though so i just have to play with that until it warms up. but ya is there a way to fix that or avoid it?

well the radio work today when i started it to get movie tickets. don't know why though could it be wiring maybe gone bad or loose because my passenger door window switch only goes down but not up. the driver side switch puts it up though.
I'm new to the FD so ya i know little about the workings of it and maintenance of it.
does kill because the previous owner drove it so little and the one b4 that drove it 60000 in 1995 i think total

Get a compression test. Stalling at idle on an automatic can be a sign of low compression.

well i haven't done a compression check yet and i noticed it only stalls in drive while i have the AC running it seems. the radio is temperamental apparently because it works sometimes and it doesn't work other times and it will just shut off and the display will go blank and the antenna will just go down sudenly.

Mazda is not going to do a compression test unless you request it. So, unless you specifically asked for one when you took it in 4 months ago, it didn't happen so they have no idea what the health is of the engine.

Ok, start with the easy stuff. Take the car to Autozone or someplace that can test your alternator. Start with that. If that's in good shape, get a compression test done by Mazda.

alot of people were telling me the same the that it was low compression b/c my 93 did the same thing but that wasnt the problem, i had some vacuum leaks, u should buy some carb. cleaner and spray the engine while the engine is running and if u have a leak that might be the problem, i fixed my leaks and it doesnt stop on me anymore
