bad rumor or truth?
ive heard from a lot of people that you need to rebuild the turbo rotory motors every 60-70k miles?? is this true?? if so... how much do you guys pay for a rebuild?

Not necessarily true. If you perform the normal reliability mods (changing all the rubber vacuum hoses, adding a turbo timer, changing the restrictive cat for a high flow one, ect, ect) changing the oil every 2,500 to 3,000. You don't have to baby the car but you do need to act like you have some sense. There are cars that have over 100k and still running without a rebuild. Rebuilds are about $3,000, plus/minus $500. Depends on how damaged the motor is. If I'm wrong about anything or left something out, I'm sure one of the vets will correct me.

Key words "who rebuilt it"
Either RB or Mazdartix had a manual or their own about RX-7 and they made the comment in that book about how some people can rebuild the engine and have the most amazing piece of JUNK on the road. It'll run but that's about the last nice thing you can say about that Most Amazing Piece of JUNK.
Another key word/s is NEW ROTOR HOUSINGS.

Also let it be said, the rebuilt motor will cost you around 3K, but the price of the removal and re-install can vary from 800 to 2000 if your paying someone to do it.

if your turbo is watercooled you have ZERO need for a turbo timer.
if your turbo is SOLELY oil cooled a turbo timer will help with a common coking problem known to happen to oil in the chra.

Yes the turbo timer allows for the cooling of the oil.. And depending on what type of upgrades you have your engine will last accordingly. If you port the motor and upgrade the turbo you decrease the life of the engine due to added stress. Factory TII's can go for long periods of time providing you don't beat the pants off of it and you do the proper maintenance and tune ups.
