Anti-Lag setup in 13bt
Hi,
I want to know peoples opinion on wheter this will work or not. Plumbing the BOV return path into the exh manifold before the turbo, like on the Mitsubishi 4g63's. On decel will this ignite some of the unburnt fuel just infront of the turbo to spool it up between shifts and/or even shoot flames down the exh. will this cause the turbo to overheat?? can this be done??

A properly sized compressor matched to a properly sized turbine shouldn't lag much.
It's easier to use the right parts once, than it is to make the wrong parts work.
Are you just brain building something or do you have a specific problem?
If you're just thinking, then yea it'll work. Make sure the turbo has enough oil and coolant getting to it to keep it from getting too hot.

Nah... just worked on a Lancer Evo yesterday and started to think.... what if...coz my S5 turbo is really really unresponsive below 5000 rpm, but it might be the tune... not sure.

Then how does the Evo's Turbo still remain reliable with the anti-lag setup?

Its just a standard turbo but my car runs a microtech and i think its not tuned properly but i really feel like its got no/low compression or sumthin.... can i use a normal comp guage to check comp. I heard theres a special way to do it??? what comp figures should i see..? and the previous owner said sumthin about the motor being extended ported but i dont think its is, if it is will the comp. be different??

edit: Most modern anti-lag systems don't use that kind of weird **** anyway... they just jack the throttle open and retard the timing heavily, so the engine idles at about 2500rpm with timing at roughly 30degATDC, and zero manifold vacuum (possibly even under boost at idle) Then again you also see rally cars with exhaust systems glowing all the way to the rear bumper...
