acceleration trouble
Everytime I press down on the acceleration to go faster there will be a delayed reaction. For instance say I am driving. Then I decide to speed up. When I try to go faster my rpms will jump a little as if I were reving. Then they will go back down and the car will accelerate normally. What is happening to my car? Could it be the tps? It's been a while but I thought my car was supposed to idle at 1500. If that is so then I might need to adjust it because it is at 900 now.

Oh yea sorry. It is a 1990 Fc with Racing beat headers, y pipe, pre-silencer, and muffler. I also have a stage two exceddy clutch. When I bought the car I was told that I would need a new tranny sooner or later. Could that be the problem?

I dont know if its possible with s5s, but run it with out the tps. IF ITS A DOUBLE, i wont start. Or remove it from the mount, and try driving with the tps just plugged in. Dont let it touch the accelerator cable or w/e that thing is..

Download the FSM / get a Haynes manual. You should check that the clutch pedal is adjusted properly by measuring the freeplay. The freeplay is how far you can press the pedal before you encounter resistance (clutch pedal rod pressing into the master cylinder). The height at which the pedal releases / engages at will vary depending on how the rod is adjusted. There is a 12mm nut locking it in place on the back of the pedal. If there is no freeplay at all, the throwout bearing will always be in contact with the fingers of the pressure plate, which could mean reduced pressure on the disk (as well as eventually ruining the throwout bearing).
Other things to consider would be whether or not the system has been bled of any air bubbles, or if any oil might have been on the clutch disk. Did this just start happening now, or has it been this way since the clutch was replaced?
