13b General hp options

I've gone rotary for over about a year now, enough to start thinking of projects with the motor.

This is a Devils advocate type question.

I've convinced myself that the 20b is the way to go. Its even pretty affordable.

The 13b is also an option for my next idea. What kind of numbers does the 13b put down? Torque and HP (PS/KLW)?

Turbo? N/A?

After dismantling a 13b it seem easy enough to rebuild and when I had pistons i would tear down in the winter. Is this nessary for rotaries? or do they have a longer life cycle for race seasons?

Just wanna see if the effort of maintaining a 20b is worth it.

I drove a n/a FC for about a year and i drive a FB/12a now, 6 months.

your questions cannot be answered as asked. you need to convey what it is you want your end result to be.

from what i've read/seen 13Bs have eclipsed 900 HP in race trim, but that's pretty useless info if you want to chase and all motor, stock-bodied record. see what i mean? also, if the 20B is affordable to you, then why even consider 13B? obviously it will out-power and out-torque a 13B given the same levels of modification and tune.

rebuild intervals will depend on level of tune and use.

theres spec sheets for na and turbo models all over this site you can look at those and check the stock hp and torque yourself pretty easily. i think the stock na 13b is like 160 hp? and the turbo model is like 220? i think dont quote me but look at the spec sheets.

- Context - Pros and cons of 20b vs 13b?

I'm a "Balance" sort of builder, Thats kinda where I'm coming from.

The all out horsepower thing has never turned me on. To much hp only works in drag racing or stop light racing. I dont do either

I like the idea (and sound) of the 3's but my devils advocate is naggin me a bit.

I have a fb now and I couldnt be happier with it on the twisties. But its almost done and I'm just thinking ahead to the next.....

Yes, those numbers are correct. But i already knew that part.

I was looking for tuned output examples and applications

13bt is what I would go with.
