Here in Okinawa, there is a triple rotary FD who is pushing approx 1100-1200 (2nd hand knowlege) horsepower. I haven't seen this guy race firsthand but rumor has it that he is the fastest guy on the island (He eats Supras for fun). There is a shop here that custom builds rotaries from scratch and this guy is definitely a guru when it comes to building/tuning. If I get a video of this guy running, I will be sure to hook you guys up with a link.

Lay down the crack pipe. Stock Fds vs FCs is no contest. Fd has a much stiffer chassis and better suspension.

even if you're able to extract that kinda power, there is no realistic way to make it reliable. Hell guys with 400 hp have problems making it reliable.

There is a guy here in Okinawa who custom builds triple rotaries here in Okinawa. He grew up as an apprentice to his father who was a nascar mechanic by trade. The guy "Bo" is a prior airforce member who fell in love with the rotary motor and has been working on them for the past 12 years. He will probably forget more about this motor than most will ever know. This guy consistently builds dependable motors that generate numbers varying from 700-1200hp all depending on the money you want to spend. I think his cheapest one goes for around 10G's.

The 1200 hp motors of course are not as dependable, but seem to kill the competition with both numbers and dependability. He is the fastest on the island and possibly even Japan all together.

I don't know who you think is building a drag rx8 with 1300hp. Mazda gave us a rx8 and ken scheepers also recieved one. Neither one of our cars will have 1300hp unless we go 3 rotor. Ken is doing 2 rotor and our plans are the same. We make the most power with our 91 rx7 at 900-1000 rwhp on a 2 rotor a y2k t-80 at 45psi. If anybody here reads magazines people should already know this. We are the only people that got a rx8 for next season.

Here is some eye candy for you guys:

Check out the videos link and check out:

and
the second Dry hop video

There is a video of a blue FC and a yellow FD on this site (links toward the bottom). The yellow FD is supposedly 1200hp and is a daily driver. I watched the blue FC get junked tonight. I almost fainted

If we displace only 1.3L how do we guzzle more fuel than a 5.7L V8? It's a matter of how fast that displacement is being used. a rotary uses it's full displacement at twice the speed of a standard piston engine, which can be proven by simply going to "how stuff works" and reading the piston engine and rotary engine articles. we use more fuel than the 5.7L v8 due to torque, the v8 can easilly push the car at 1500 rpms, whereas we need to rev up in excess of 3000 to really get going, and even then we are only making half the torque.

on a seperate note, I'm glad to hear 1000hp 13b's exist. Miata drivers with lt1's give the rotary engine **** all the time, and now I have somethin' to throw back without having to bring up the 20b.

Smile Size does not matter

For those of you that never seen or heard of a Rotary engine producing 1000+ HP's, go to (www.puertoricoracing.com) or (www.pistonvsrotor.com) or (www.puertoricodragracing.com) or maybe (http://go.to/puertorico) and see it your self what is real power.....

As for the power question, Ive never heard of a 13b (whether it be 13bt, 13b-rew, 13b-re) breaking 1000HP. I dont think they are capable of much over 700HP personally.
dyno queens... most supras can have 800 hp but cap break into 10's... its a curse... they have huge top end torque and speed tho....

In britain their is a Skyline doing 1000HP, but doesnt run faster than a 10.0 sec. I think lots of well tuned rotaries are doing the same with half the power.

I'm bumping this thread hoping someone can help me. I'm looking for a site that has a Tube Frame FD with 1000hp on a 13b. On the site there is a video of the car on the dyno and the car smokes the tires on the rollers! I really want to find this video, so if anyone knows what I'm talking about, I'd REALLY appreciate it!
