I wasn't aware RE's kit was from NRG. I have a new set sitting in the garage I was going to sell and buy the NRG version for my fiberglass RE-A hood. Is there a way to find out which version I have, so I know if I have to buy another set?

Uhm, no it is implied. Read page one as it clearly states this thread is for "Rotary Extreme" damper kits. Later in the thread it states damper kits are made by NRG. RE was closed before this thread, so of course they aren't making anymore.

Read the whole thread.
The thread started off as an attempt to get Chuck(RotaryExtreme) to make one last batch of Dampers. Chuck was going to do it but ran out of time because he is moving to asia. NRG dampers are what FDNewbie found as replacements for the GB. The thread title was just not changed. That is where we are at now. Nowhere in this thread has it been stated that Chucks dampers are NRG dampers. NRG does not even offer plain black dampers, only chrome, silver and CF finish dampers are available from NRG.
As for determining what dampers you have, try PMing "rotaryextreme" chuck may still be checking that account. I dunno though. Rammy may be able to help you with that as well.

I never said it was misleading. I have the RE kit but the shocks are too strong (just posted thread in 3d gen). My question was: If they got their kits from NRG, then how do I identify which shock I have? I have absolutely no idea why anyone would and did get offended by this! I've bought NRG stuff before as well as Rotaryextreme and have been very happy with the products from both companys.
Anyhow, if anybody has pics of them mounted, could you please post?
If anybody has the softer shocks or has ahd both could you please tell me how much softer they are?
^ If that's offensive, then oh well.

I think everybody was just having a bad day .
Order for the struts is still processing so it will be some time before people post up pics of them mounted, but someone posted pics they found a page or two back.

From what I have been told chuck(RotaryExtreme) did not get his dampers from NRG. He pieced his kits together himself. Telling the difference from OEM hood and CF\FG hood damper version would probably be different for the NRG and RE dampers. There may not be any visual way to tell unless you can find the PSI rating for the damper on it somewhere. Otherwise I guess you gotta just guage the resistance of the damper yourself.
There are pics of the dampers a few pages back. I don't think there are any shots of it actually mounted on an FD though. That you will have to wait for until we get our struts.

^ ok, thank you found the pic. It looks like one of the fender bolts is replaced with the stud w/ball thing and the rod towards the front.
If the oem aluminum hood is about the same weight as fiberglass or possibly fiberglass/carbon then I don't think anyone needs the standard version. Allthough i'm not shure the aluminum would bow and warp as easy. When someone gets the 1/2psi shock could you please post how easy or hard it is to compress it?

ETA for the hood dampers to arrive with me (and then be redistributed) is sometime mid January. I also haven't forgotten about the refunds for the price difference that need to be issued to those participating. They will be sent once I ship out the dampers .

We asked NRG to delay shipping of our order until after the holidays so that the items wouldn't ship to my address without me being there. They decided to just hold off on processing the order all together. Today they also informed us they don't offer silver anymore, so the one person ordering silver has been pmed about their order. The order will be going through in a day or two and should ship to me for redistribution relatively quickly.

I hate having to tell you guys this stuff, but there may have been a mistake on NRGs part with the chrome orders. Ramy and I will look into it ASAP. CF orders will go out as planned.
