Thanks DaiOni! I wanted to know the right spec of the car. On the vechile licence i've got that its a 1993 model but on the seat belt there is 1992 model. I would greatly appreciate if anyone could detemine the exact spec. Thanks again!!

it's the highest number of the 15 version 1 cars on my spreadsheet
FD3S-115126 was an R model and was 1st rego'ed in japan in march 1993
so your car would have maybe been may1993?
probably has the black bezel, like the version 2 cars, around the instruments but still has the individual white markings for each km
if you can find JAE or F109 somewhere on the car it means it was probably an R model, if you find JAA or F100 then maybe an S model
in japan the S model was basically a stripped R model, except for possibly the suspension. most S cars ended up with bolt on R parts so they are very hard to tell apart and it is basically meaningless

Guys, many thanks for your support!
DaiOni, my seats are of cloth if that may help. The seats are like the ones in the picture (please note that the car in the picture is not mine)
eric e, thanks for all the info. My bezels are in silver and not black. The rx7 in the link that you have provided looks excatly like mine from the outside (except for the sunroof which i don't have) but the inside is quite different (exept for the bezels and the rear seats). I will look for the JAE or F109 or JAA or an F100 and get back to you.
Thanks again!

efinimazda - that's a version one VIN, and looks to be 92 - it's definitely not a 94.
ITR - the seats in that pic are alcantara, not cloth.
sounds like you have a type-r.
That's if version I type-s cars have a cloth trim (not 100% on this, don't have my references on hand. Eric?)

If I remember correctly, in JAPAN the 1992 was the only year the FD came with the BUTTHOLE symbol, also only 1 oil cooler. Something else as well..... I want to say something in the interior, but I cant remember.

every 92 i've seen has
- the mock-suede front seats (or leather if it's an x model, think cloth started with the R2)
usually listed on the options page of the parts book below radio but nothing there
http://groups.msn.com/2wheelsgood/rx...to&PhotoID=844
- 2 oil coolers, (or 1 oil cooler and 1 autotrans cooler)
- and the triangular infinity symbol, (not sure when the holey thing started, 95?)

silver7 is at the dock waiting for it' ship to aust.
about to sink my teeth into the blackbathurst

Hello
There where 18270 produced from December 1991 to October 1992. Sold until
August 1993. Then replaced by version 2 1993. The cars did have the silver bezels in 91, 92
only. 93 to 99 had the black bezels. In 2000 the silver bezels came back. FD3S-115951 is a
1992.
