motor mount -- urethane -- help!

So I finally got some urethane round stock. I was wondering how poly mounts on our cars are made. Do people press/epoxy in some steel/stainless threaded inserts into the polyurethane? Or is there a long stud that goes through the entire poly piece.

The only reason i'm making some is because i'm making an aluminum oil pan whos flange is 1/2" thick. I want to shorten the polyurethane bushings a little so the engine sits at stock height.

When I made mine, I drilled through the poly and used some all thread to run it all the way through.

vs

with both types, there would be steel/stainless end washers.

did you notice significant vibration in the interior compartment? the only problem i was thinking was that the engine noise will be transmitted to the chassis through the stud

What I did was cut a 3" piece as the motor mount. Then I made a "washer" of poly to put on the bottom of the engine mount on the subframe side along with some BIG metal washer. There is a thread with a how to on the 3rd gen section under the user name Damian. It is an old thread. I will see if I can dig it up.
