So I just came down on orders to PCS to a hospital on Heidelburg, Germany. I dont know **** about germany and ive got a 93 RX7 that will be getting a pretty big amount of mods when I get home from the deployment im on. I trying to find out about shops in germany that do quality work on RX7, know what they are doing, and def gonna need someone who can tune Apexi PFC and Aquamist water/methenol injection system. Also whats the whole deal on inspections? What all does it take to pass inspection ive never had to deal with anything like that in the states always lived in areas that didnt require smog or inspection so ive been able to run straight pipe exhaust, and no air bags, ect.

first for someone here to tune your car is highly unlikely. Your best shot is to go to the UK and have one of their shops do the work for you. Germany is not the place for Rx7's. They only know how to work on cars by their specification, meaning if something is modified then they don't know what to do. I took mine to two shops and all they can do is shrug their sholders. So if i was you i would not chance it. Go to the UK i hear alot of good feed backs from shops their. Now about emmisions. Yes they will fail you on your no-cat, they do not do smog and for your airbags does your light come on for the air bag. if it does take out the light bulb for it to save you the hassel. i had the same issues with an aftermarket steering wheel and he got me on it and i had to put the old stock one back on for the airbag to go out.
good luck.

I can also chime in on this one, I was a POV inspector here for the KMC area for almost a year so any question you might have just let me know. I agree you won't find many if any shops around Germany that will do great tuning work. So my suggestion would be get the work done and tuned before shipping it if you can.

Inspection wise: You might get around not having a Cat all depends on the inspectors knowledge but the sound of your exhaust might get you. they test the sound level by putting your car in nuetral and taking the car to half your redline. If the DB meter reads over 95 DB you WILL FAIL, no matter what. As for the airbag if your wheel doesn't have one and your Airbag light comes on when you start the car your screwed so remove the buld like he said above. You still might have to re-install the stock wheel. if you have tinted windows remove the tint. if you need anymore info let me know. if you were in my area, i might have been able to help you get passed the inspection...... but your a couple hours away!

Yea I was planning to get a resonated midpipe and and exhaust system so I think noise levels wouldnt be a problem, I was planning to do a pretty big build on the car but there would be no way to get it done within the 30 days id have back from deployment before id have to ship the car to germany so that it was there when I got there, I think id only be back from deployment for 60-80 days before i'd have to report to my assignment in germany. I dont have window tint but my airbag light is always on and ive read other people who had aftermarket steering wheels on their FD who pulled the bulb also not pass because the inspector didnt see the light go on and off real quick when the car was turned on/started. I dont know a whole lot about PCSing to germany but I think the army would only pay for shipping 1 vehicle over even for married couple and if that is the case id have to take my gals honda civic its the daily driver. Any information you can share with me is def appreciated I dont know a thing about PCSing to germany or about europe life at all.

Your right about them looking for the airbag light right at start up but if it never comes on most inspectors won't even think about it. But like stated before there are a few shops in Germany that would tune your car but it would be very expensive. There is also a few other GI's in the area that have some tuning experience. I have a PowerFC w/datalogit that we are waiting on a few more parts to come in and then we're going to tune mine up. So either way you can find help if you did it yourself.

The Army will only ship one vehicle over here for free also. You can ship the second at your expense. But Heidelburg is a great City to live in you'll have a blast up there.
