US Pettit unlimitted in Euro car

Hello all,

Just wanted to share a weird thing that happened to me and I wonder if youguys have any explanations on this.

I recently purchased a used pettit unlimitted ECU that was taken out of a 93 FD from Florida.

When I installed it the car started fine and idle was even more stable and lower than with my stock ECU.

The problem was with boost: I had a rock solid 0.5 kg/cm² of boost on both turbo, I even don't know if the secondary ever started!

Checked everything and finally decided to put my stock ECU back on, and everything was back to normal with a 0.9-0.5-0.7 boost pattern (I have boost peaks on the primary due to open intake, DP and catback).

The ECU is not a fake (I checked, and you can actually see pictures on my FS thread).

Any idea of what happened?

By the way, it's for sale if anyone is interested: 375$, price I paid for incl. the shipping cost I paid for.

Thanks in advance for your inputs

All right. Really weird then... I'd like to test it on a US spec FD. I'll asked a pal here who owes one, we'll see...

Thanks anyway for your experience.

I'll do.

But if you have a JDM it should be safe for you to buy a used JDM remapped ECU from RE-Amemiya of Knightsports for instance.
N3A7 code.

Here I assume it is because my ECU is a N3B8 which is the european version, but I hear people that have installed US version on Euro cars w/o problem, so I'm a little lost...

I had a Euro spec ECU N3B7 (IIRC) in my N3A1 US FD and I could not feel/see any difference. After swapping ECU's I did have some boost problems due to bad connections on the ECU. Check that again !

I checked connections several times with the same problem, put the stock one back on and everything was back to normal.

I recently installed a jdm knightsport 4beat and it works great!

There is a diffrence between US spec and Euro Spec ECU's just so u know. Not sure what the diffrence is.

I know US cars has more emission stuff to it.

But a freind had a similar problem due to a US car that got a Euro harness. And used the US ecu, and had similiar boost problems. Got a Euro ECU and everything worked fine.
