Like a short shifter for my 1982 gearbox...
Or a louvred bonnet, for my first gen. Cause I'll need some fresh air underneath once I'm finished :-)

Can you believe it that I just saw this thread ?

Anyway, anyhow, since we are talking about irrelevant issues, let me tell you that "Friends" is most likely the best sitcom of all times .....

And that my TII is still not sold........if anyone's interested

Bart, did you ever get that mess straightened out with the body shop (paint job)?

nope.... I took away the car after nearly 8 weeks. And just before I took it, I called them to say I'd come and pick it up. When I arrived there was a dead battery and some patches of ugly applied bodyfiller... So I had to start all the sanding over again. The also filled in the mounting holes for the badges...
Now I'm going to use another shop, but I need to supply them with all products, because I already have the paint (from the other guy).
I guess in about 2-3 weeks I'll have the car painted.
BTW: engine swap seems on a dead end too. The S4 shortblock seems not to come. I'm searching for a S5 now, cause it'd be stronger.

Does anyone know where that "post a pic of yourself" thread went? I can't seem to find it.

Today I became 26, so thanks for the happy birthday e-mail Higgi!!!
Also, I sold the FD. An Austrian 20-year old guy bought it. I'm sure he's gonna enjoy it. The car was so beautifull... I miss it already. But then again, it wasn't even mine so...
Still really stuck with my Mariah...
Anybody who can arrange shipping from the US to Europe and avoid taxes? FC3S.org has some good engine offers. I was thinking about getting a 13B RE (Cosmo) short block (only like 2200 euro). But they won't ship international. And taxes are a problem aswell...

Well, I can have some things sent here for cheap through the US mail, but something as big as an engine would have to come FedEx, and would likely have import tarriffs levied against it. So, it probably wouldn't be any cheaper in the long run than having it FedEx'd to Belgium to start with (they should be able to do that, I think).

Best bet is to have a friend in the US Air Force who knows someone in California (or wherever FC3S.org is home-based) and have them put one on a plane bound for Germany. That's a pretty long shot, though, and you'd have to know someone pretty well to get them to pull that off for you.

Sorry, man.

Anybody who knows a good Japanese or Australian firm to get import engines from??? I'd have to pay taxes OK, but I'll never find a 13B RE or REW overhere anyway, so...

Guys, I think I'm gonna kill someone soon...
Remember all those problems I had with the paintshop?
Well, the idiot now wants me to pay 270euro, for the paint (1l of red, specially made) and the work!!!
I called him and told him I'd pay for the paint, even though I cannot use it, as nobody wants to sell me the right thinners/hardeners (Sikkens Autocryl LV). But I refuse to pay for the few spots of unnecessary filler he put on the perfectly prepared body. He actually filled the holes for the emblems I had drilled!!! He also left my car dirty, and that with my new seats!!!
Obviously he finds it not so good that I refuse to pay, but hey, I'm not gonna pay for nothing
Mind you, he doesn't even send me an invoice, just a phonecall. And he doesn't call me, but my parents!?
Kinda clear that he didn't believe his own bill then?

I'd send him a bill for 270 euro's for the spoiler they broke and redrilling the emblem holes

P.S mines still in the bodyshop, the guy working on it removed the rear spoiler to do a proper job of sorting the hatch aperature out ,but broke some of the plastic clips holding it on ( most of them had snapped already to be fair to him) but I'm struggling to find some to replace them at the moment

PPS anyone got any ideas for mounting the front number plate ... I don't really like the stock (Bodged IMO) setup

Can you get away with sticker numberplates overthere??? Several first gens have them in germany, TuV legal (on the edge...). We had something like that on the FD too.
