Completely of -the current- topic, but thats what this thread is all about, right ?

I posted a thread in the 3rd Gen to ask about the power gains in a BPU FD (you know, the usual DP, exhaust, boost controller), and 53 views and one day later, NO replies

Guess they dont know their FDs as much as they should.......

As far as I know DP/Exhaust/boost controller/intake mods can make upto 350hp. Yet, a bit extra fuel wouldn't be a bad bet when increasing boost and opening the intake and exhaust. So some way of controlling extra fuel (piggyback ECU, standalone) would be smart. Not increasing the amount of fuel properly on tuned rotaries is the main reason for them to break. But, other then that, yes, 350hp is a possible figure. Allthough I rather would say 300-320 so I can be safe.

Well yeah, a boost controller will set me back about 500E (if not more), and a fuel controller another 350-400E (easily), so another 200E for a PowerFC might not seem all that much, but what nobody tells you is that actually programming the standalone is NOT that easy, and not because it takes a lot of time, but because you never have access to valuable information, which is kept hidden only for the eyes of the "professional" tuners

Anyway, I'm just gathering information here, so everything I see, hear and generally find out is useful......When I decide to buy a car, then I'll take into consideration which one is also easier to upgrade (and right now this looks like the Elan )

I personaly see the P-FC as an intresting option too. My plans were rebuild FD engine, ported, and P-FC, before someone took just a little too much of my money :-(
Point with programmable ECU's is that you don't only have to pay for the device, but also need to book some time at a test/tunecenter, to have some runs on the dyno, and to make sure the settings won't destroy your engine. It's not very easy to find capable tuners, as most do not have a clue what a rotary engine is, and therefor keep thinking that what's good for a piston engine will be ok for a rotary. Most don't even know there's a very important ignition timing difference between leading and trailing plugs!
An Elan does have the obvious plus of being an "ordinary" car, technicaly speaking. Meaning that there will be enough capable tuners around should you go for serious power.

Hey, I'm the only one here without a car, so give me a break, will ya ?

As for the standalone, you are right Bart, its not only the initial cost (about 1,2K for a nice E6K or a complete PowerFC), its also the cost of the tuning sessions......And you cannt do it on your own (like with a boost controller and a fuel computer)....

As for the Elan, if you take a look at the various sites, you'll see that a simple DP (which is much less smaller than the FD's), a nice 2.5" exhaust (or just the muffler), along with a cone filter, and a manual boost controller (you dont need anything fancy with the Elan, its plain and simple), will get you 0,9bar, VERY fast spool-up, nice response, and a nice sound as well. And all these for half the cost of a PowerFC

The only drawback of the Elan is that it doesnt have a BOV, and with the increased boost its absolutely essential to reduce turbo wear, and to keep the turbo spining while shifting. So a BOV with the appropriate tube will cost about 300E or more, so thats another expense........

But all in all, an Elan is FAR more "cheap" to modify than a FD, and produces much better results with far lower costs......

Im warning you, there IS a tittie inside
A coworker gave me a dvd copy, and asked me if it would play in my PS2, so I decided to give it a try.
I came home, put in the slot and up comes this screen that says "Men at work". From my large experience with theeswe kindda movies i could see that i was a pornvideo.
Anyways I select the first scene, It started out with a greenish FB with a nice bodykit roll in to a shop, out comes a lightly dressed babe, who needs to get her car fixed, Beeing the rotorhead that i am, the first thing that came to my mind was.:Get the TPS adjusted lol.
So the one guy starts working on her car and then later a grey FC t2 comes in and a hot chick, that with a good imagination would lok like Anna Kournikova, steps out and want her car fixed, it turns out that they cant afford to pay...you get the picture.
Its all in school-english with danish actors and swedish subtitles. The green FB has danish tags and it looks like a danish shop too, so i got courius and send Jeppe an e-mail, well knowing that one guy from the club magasine has an autoshop "Cliffs auto". I asked if this is what the club money is for and if thats the case then i want to be in the sequel.

Hmm, I think I'd prefer to see Kim's movie then, Higgi. I do not like seeing rex's crushed!
Anyway: if someone knows "Stephen Kings The Stand", there's a rex in there too. Now mind you, you won't easily catch that one! The film is about 6 hours, the car is in a scene where 2 of the main characters have to go through a tunnel. In front of the tunnel (also inside) are plenty of stranded cars, the people inside died of some virus. Well, one of those cars there is a FC, I think a S4.
It's blueish-silver. When we watched the film, we did so with friends, and from the five people watching, I was the only one (how come ) who jumped high and shouted: go back a bit, go back a bit! They did so, not knowing what I was talking about, apart from my wife who said "I bet he saw a RX7"...

How do you know???
Well, they all knew my RX7 obsession, so they weren't really surprised. Just surprised about me actually seeing that car. It was only there for a second, and in the middle of other cars...
But you know: we just feel those things, don't we?

Well, I'm intrested in hardcore more then soft-would-be-stuff, so I haven't seen that movie you mention either.
Maybe I must try to find a copy somewhere then. But I always get so bored by soft-erotic movies...

Well, in order to "warm up" the atmosphere (if you know what I mean ) you need some soft stuff, in order to show what you would like to begin happening........

.......however, after you start getting it on with the girl, then its time to bring out the "good stuff"

yeah, but I'm married for nearly three years, and we are together for almost 8, by now she knows me well enough, I think... I mean: I made her watch the Fast and the Furious because of those Rex's. She actually didn't even think the film was too bad (not good, just not too bad). Living with me isn't healthy I guess...

And hijacking again........

I have managed to destroy all three of my CDROMs/Recorder/DVD within a couple of seconds

I tried to watch Blade 2, and -obviously because of a bad CD- it was unreadable. I got so frustrated, that I tried another movie.

Which also turned out to be unreadable as well (just my luck ). So, when the third movie that I tried to watch proved unreadable as well, I switched drives, to check if the problem was with the drive that I was using. Nope, still unreadable........

By this time, I was pretty pissed, so when I ejected the CD I also punched the tray which of course broke and stuck in the drive. Immediately after I punched the DVD (for no reason at all, just because I was mad), and it seems that this punch also took out the third drive (which I had for several years now, the Pioneer 36X with the slit door).

So, right now I'm out of CDROM drives, recorder AND DVD drive Damn, I'll have to go to Exel tomorrow and buy a new CD/CDR/REW........it was time anyway......

Damn, dude, that sucks! Temper, temper!

Thanks for the laugh, though.
