will a FCON support bigger injectors

I just purchased a greddy td06 turbo and need to upgrade my fuel system. I have a fcon with the t04 chip. I was wondering if the FCON will work with larger (1600cc injectors)?

No, definitely not with 1600's.
Each chip is programmed for a certain fuel injector size.
In fact, I don't know of any of the HKS PFC F-CON chip that are made for anything other than the stock 4 x 550's.

It depends which F-Con you are using. If you use the F-Con V-pro then the answer is yes, you can run any injector set up you want. I've seen the following combinations with the F-Con V-Pro:

720 Primaries X 2 / 1200 Secondary X 2
550 Primaries X 2 / 1600 Secondary X 2
720 Primaries X 2 / 1600 Secondary X 2
1000 Primary X 2 / 1000 Secondary X 2
AND
550 Primary X 2 / 850 X 2 and 1000 X 2 Secondary (Running a total of 6 injectors)

This set up was for a full bridge, T51R Kai SPL running 1.5 - 1.7 Bar of boost. Over 600 RWHP. As far as I know they were all staged, they kept the 550 to help with idle and the 850’s and 1000's were all blended separately. I heard it was a pain in the butt to tune but once they got it, it was insane. Don’t ask me about the duty cycles of the injectors or anything b/c I don’t know that. I’ve seen the car in Japan (it’s a buddy of mine who owns it and who help me build mine) He has his car sitting out back in his shop.

That engine set up is no longer in there since he sold that. Anyhow the Gold color HKS F-Con V-pro are awesome in my opinion. Granted all I have been around in Japan were the F-Con V-Pros and the Power FC. I am going to switch over to the F-Con V-Pro soon b/c in my opinion and from what I saw with the tuning shops in Japan even though the F-Con V-pro is a piggy back system it is far superior to the power FC.

I'd like you to find an F-CON Pro tuner in the USA...

All you of little faith, there are all kinds of HKS pro tuners in the states. I know of 2 specifically in California that tune F-Con V-Pro’s and have done them on Rotaries. SP Engineering has done a couple and even had a badass yellow one on the cover of I forgot which magazine. Also in Cali is XS engineering which has also tuned Rotaries. If you look on HKS’s website they will show you where all the Pro certified dealers are. There are a lot all over the place there is even one in PA for onekwik7 to go to. I don’t know how close it is to him but it’s located in Bangor, PA. Anyhow the point is just go to their website and you’ll find the locations all over the place.

Here is the list of all 26 pro tuners in the United States, enjoy.

Too bad the OP was most likely talking about an old PFC F-CON and not any of the newer fully programmable units...

Would I be able to get away with something a little smaller like 680's or 720's. I know i'm going to need more fuel than the stock 550s can handle but I dont have enough cash for a stand alone this year.

I'm in the same dilemma myself.
My planned setup this summer is:

streetported s4 turboII engine (with stock turbo or an s5 unit if i can find a good working s5 unit at a reasonable price)
typical bolt-ons (intake, dp, exhaust)
720cc secondaries and a walbro pump

RETed, I will also be running an old-school F-CON with the E149 ROM chip. Of course, I figured that it won't work properly with the 720's because it was programmed to be used with 550's. But, if I added a GCC to the F-CON; do you think it would work?

Yes you can run bigger injectors on the old F-con. A litttle secret about the Fcon is if you take the cover off you will see a dial on the board some what down and left of center if I remember correctly. You can dial fuel in and out with that. Lots of people used to drill a hole in the cover so they could just stick a screwdriver in there and make adjustments.

The old PFC-Fcon was able to be chipped to about any setup you had and used to sell labeled for the setup in used places a long time ago. Also if you can find the GCC that plugs into it you can get a graphic equalizer of sorts to adjust fuel. I ran one of these units on my old Supra.

I knew about the adjustment screw inside the fcon plus i have an upgraded chip.I just purchased 2 880cc injectors for secondaries. Hopefully the car will run with these.
