Poser with a tt rx-7 93' ???

Kid just bought a 93 TT RX-7 while back. He claims he has bigger injectors, engine management in his glovebox, As far as i know FOR SURE what he has is Exhaust and K&N Filters...Can anyone tell me where i could find tell tale signs of his lying that he DOESNT haven injectors, engine managemnt/or fuel, etc. Just describe where to look maybe? What to look for .... etc..... Thanks everyone...

I really havent looked at Rotarys much and dont know where much of ANYTHING is on them, That **** is crammed tight in the engine bay i must say!

Thank you for your help guys...

Well, first impression is how rough the idle is, the bigger the injectors, the more it will sound like it has a "cam" in it. Ask him what size injectors he put in & why. On my FD, you usually leave the primaries stock and replace the secondaries with 1300 or 1600's. So ask him. Look under the car for cats, I doubt if he has cats, he's running stand alone (engine management). Ask him what kind and he let's you peek it's in the passenger side footwell under the kickpanel.

Most people just replace the secondary injectors, which means that the idle is not affected at all. Also, with good tuning, an EMS can run very large primary injectors and still have a smooth idle. The "cam" sound is usually from engine porting, not from fuel injectors.

I can't think of any way to determine that he is lying, and it is going to be very difficult for you to notice any differences in the engine bay since you are not aware of what it looks like in stock form.

What does it matter, anyway? The bottom line is that the car will produce whatever horsepower it will produce, and it will only be as fast as the driver and tuner can make it. Whether or not it has one part or another is trivial.

Anything larger than 1300 cc injectors requires a new fuel rail, since anything larger than 1300's is most likely top feed instead of side feed. Stock secondaries are 850cc. Any Additional Ijectors would be "Obvious" as welded onto the intake path, the center piece beeing the thing that looks like a Claw on top of the motor...
The Seconaries beeing at the bottom inside of the claw's fingers... (finger tips) If you can hardly see them they're stockers or 1300's... if it's a big piece of alluminium or "Obvious" fuel rail then you know...

Look at www.rx7store.net for pictures of the fuel system components...
