Need help tuning AVC-R on FD

I have a M2 stage three ECU, Apexi intake, SR Motorsports upgrade ic, HKS dp, mid-pipe, and Greddy Power Extreme cb. I cannot keep secondary boost below 0.9 kgf/cm2 (12.8 psi). I am trying to use setting A for a stock pattern (10-8-10). My primary boost (before 4500) is perfect but after transition boost keeps building all the way to red line (no spiking). I am using RPM specific settings and have duty set as low as it will go at 4500 rpm and beyond (20%). I never thought I would have too much boost after transition!

I think the unit is hooked up correctly because when I turn it off my primary boost goes to 7 psi as it should, but I still see the boost build up to 13 as it goes to red line.

I have the F/B speed set at default (3) for all gears. Self-learn is turned off. Start duty is set 0% for all gears as spiking is not a problem.

Is the fact that I am running a mid-pipe the problem? Is there just too much boost for the waste-gate to keep up? Please help!!

Your definitely gonna see boost creep with a mid pipe. need to have your wastegate ported to alleviate the problem. i don't think you are ever gonna get rid of it just make it better.

pretty much, its a bit better because of the greater restriction but it is not as restrictive as the standard system.

porting the wastegate will help a bit though

To port to wastegate I assume you have to remove the whole turbo assembly and then send it out to someone? Any suggestions on who?

Yep turbos have to come off, it is a relatively easy but time consuiming procedure. jump over to the 3rd gen section and do a search there is tons of info over there.

Ben,

What happens when you UP the duty cycle? Set FB to 1 in 3rd on up. Tell me your exact setting per rpm band. I'll reply with what mine is set to.

Also, we're doing a dyno day up here in Columbus on the 19th. Check the NE region forum if you are interested.

Regards

Ben,

My boost is almost rock solid, when I don't start messing with the duty cylces and have to re-learn the relationship of boost and duty cycles. We have similar mods, minus the mid-pipe. I think the duty cycle being set too low is the key. I can snap some shots of the settings if that helps you.

Regards
