Exclamation Help On Picking Out An ECU For FC!?!?!?

I have an 89 Turbo that i am modifing for street. I have a brand new engine from Atkins Rotary with a street port. 550cc primary and 720cc sec. In the near future when the car is closer to being finished if need be i will install larger injectors. Anyway, i also sent out my turbo to be rebuilt and upgraded. now its a t3/t4 hybrid with v-trim. And if need be, a turbo upgrade is also in the near future. the guy told me that this turbo should easily hold 400rwhp which is kinda wat i was looking for in the car. just all depending on the tuning and wat happens. I need an ECU! I have connections and could get a motec for a little cheaper then wat they come for but i need some suggestions on some other really good ecu's. Preferrably one that is lap top compatible, data logging, ect. One that has all the options. i am not familiar with the wolf 3d, the haltech and such. im basically looking for one that is one step down from motec. what do u guys suggest?? plz ask questions if i didnt make things clear on here.

Is it too late to halt the turbo rebuild? The T3/T4 is generally not a very good turbo for these cars. It would be better to use a full-sized T4 if you want a significant upgrade.

The turbo is already on the car. I already have 750mi on the new motor i am breaking in. The guy i sent it to in FL is very experienced, he only deals with turbos and is very knowledgable with 7's and he said it is going to be an excellent turbo. but i will keep in mind wat you said and if i need to like i said, i am ready to go t4 if i have too.

also thanx for the info. i already called some ppl about the autronic ecu but told me to call them back tomorrow so hopefully i can get something good out of this ecu.

It's not a step down! The only thing that's down is price.

I'll give you a bit of History since everyone know's about MoTec and hardly anyone has ever heard of Autronic.

Back in the early days, Autronic (Aubert Electronics) made Motec ECU's
Richard Aubert was involved with Design's upto M4/M48/M8
with ex-owner(MoTec) Richard Bendell.

Of course partnerships are very hard to keep and there's went sour in a very bad way. Autronic was formed shortly afterwards. Small Company but very high quality products and very well known among the racing elite.

Today, MoTec has new owners and a new line of ecu's (M400/600/800).
They actually stop making older models and reduced prices to get rid of them.
Some users still prefer their older models however.

This was one of the earlier models from back in the day.
It was a very high tech product for it's time!!
Tuned with a screwdriver!

Owner's of SM2's will reconize the case since it's still in use today.

You mean Autronic stole early MoTeC designs?

Seriously though, MoTeC runs Motorola chips.
Autronic runs Intel chips, unless the changed this within the past two years?
So are you Mac or PC?

Not that user support has anything to do with an EMS (ahem), but are you saying that Roger Mandeville will help me tune my new Autronic EMS, should I buy one?

I agree MoTec's Tech support is Top Notch.

Roger's an excellent MoTec tuner! Why would you want him to tune something else?.

But I thought Autronic was the same as a Motec, only less expensive?
