ECU with no specific rotary support, could it be made to work?

Is it all possible to get an ecu that has no specific support for rotaries to work with an FC TII? The problem with the fueling as I understand it is the 13B's staged injectors. Could the ecu be tuned to handle the staged injectors or the injectors reconfigured in a way the ecu could handle?
If the ecu can be made to handle the fueling, could it be run in parallel with the stock ecu, with the stock ecu handling the ignition? Or if not the stock ecu, some J&S Safeguard equivalent product?
Sorry for the lack of details about the ecu, its not really ready for the prime time yet, the person who is developing has said it might be some time before he is able to add rotary support largely because he is an electrical engineer by trade, therefore he requires someone with a background in rotary's to explain the specific requirements of these engines.
Unfortunately, this doesn't help me much, so I'd like to see if it is at all possible to to get this ECU to work, but if it turns out to be beyond difficult I'll probably just get a Haltech or a Wolf fitted. But I'd prefer this ECU, when it has had all its bugs worked out it will be one of the better ECU's out there.

ECU DETAILS:
# Outputs for four injector groups - allows full sequential injection on a 4-cylinder, or semi-sequential injection on a 6- or 8- cylinder.
# Outputs for two igniter groups - allows for wasted spark systems on 4-cylinder, or conventional distributor systems.
# Eight configurable auxiliary outputs - four of which are configurable as high current outputs, three of which are PWM capable.

Actuator Interfaces
Number of injector drivers 4
Injector driver waveforms Full sequential, batch, semi-sequential every
period, or semi-sequential every second period,
optional batch fire during cranking
Injector driver current Optional constant current or peak-hold drive,
selectable steady-state current of 0.5A, 0.9A, 1.5A
or 1.9A
Number ignition outputs 2
Ignition output waveforms Selectable as firing on rising edge or falling edge
Ignition output type Open-collector with 560Ohm pull-up (allows direct
connection to OEM transistor or separate igniter
box)
Number of auxiliary outputs 8: 4 high-current, 4 low-current
High current outputs Max current 7A (or 3A inductive), 3 of these PWM
capable, PWM frequency selectable (23Hz - 2kHz)
Low current outputs Max current 200mA - suitable to drive relay coils

It depends...

Actually, the fuel injector set-up is actually the least of your worries.
It's basically a two (or 4 channel) staged set-up; many aftermarket ECU's can do this.

If the ecu can be made to handle the fueling, could it be run in parallel with the stock ecu, with the stock ecu handling the ignition? Or if not the stock ecu, some J&S Safeguard equivalent product?
So you're looking at a FUEL-ONLY system?

The BIG problem (with 13B two rotors) is the ignition system.
Stock is 3-channels.
You can also fire it as 4-channels.
The channels do NOT fire sequentially - evenly spaced between all ignition firing events.
This is where you need an aftermarket EMS that is specifically tailored to handle this unique Mazda 13B rotary ignition system.
