I Take it it uses the stock sensors?

That would make a a breeze to wire up then

So with the laptop version you can now share maps
with the handset you could not?

yep uses all the stock sensors, tps, everything, im rewiring my car now and the microtech took about 2 hours to wire up,

well the old versions had 2 maps on the computer so i presume you could just upload a new map to the computer from the lap top

does it come with a base map to start the car for the 1st time?

as I read more, I understand it comes with a built in 2 bar map sensor which is good for how much PSI

I plan on using a 60-1 up to 20 PSI max

20psi will be sweet, i have seen 30psi run through them no problem,
they come with a very good base map that will make more power than your standard computer and allow you to drive it around, it is rich and timing retarded

The Microtech is the best value for money system available, unfortunately they are not promoted well enough in the USA, and therefore most people dont know enough about them. The new laptop versions have killer data logging of everything including air/fuel ratio using a 4 wire O2 sensor (super fast reading), they also do anti-lag, boost contol, idle stepper control etc etc just like the haltech and mo-tec etc but at half the price. They are far more useable for DIY installers and tuners, They are 75% as adjustable as a comparable ECU but the Microtech has 32 bit interpolation, that means it can think for itself to tune in between settings. I own a workshop in Australia which has a dyno and we tune and sell all types of ECU's the Microtech is definately the best value for money and gives the least amount of greif when setting up and configuring. Anything that powers the two fastest rotaries in the world (Siguel racing RX7 and R.P.M Performance Centre dragster) that you can buy for half the price of a Haltech has got to be good value...Yes??

I think its 1BAR=14.7psi
and 14.5psi real barometric, but you should go by 14.7

Yes it does come with a base map, and has a 24 psi map sensor standard, though you can order it with a 3 bar external map sensor if wanted.
I'ts a shame they hav'nt been promoted in the US as they would end up only costing about $550.

No

1bar=14.5psi

1atm (atmoshere)=14.7psi

1atm=101.325Kpa at sea level.

101.325Kpa=14.7psi roughly

Hope this clears things up for you guys.

You are a moron !

I and MANY people have used Autronic, they are accurate and reliable.

For *u@#$ sake I thought this thread was called bang for your buck and it was about value for money ECU's. The Autronic is a good ECU but its comparatively very expensive.

Hmmm let me see I think Bang for Buck means "features" for "cost" ? I think Autronic SMC will **** all over a Microtech, No I will say that it DOES !

Last SMC I bought was $1800Aus v's $1200Aus for a Microtech.

Bang for buck there is no challenge for @#!* sake

I think Americans are smart people, they know a ******** when they see it ! Microtech fits the bill.

Cheap, nasty, poor resolution, only pluses are monkeys can tune them

You can perform miricals with pieces of ****, look at PRO STOCK cars, carbies and big blocks running 8's
They still *******, when it comes to being all round performers.

My point is that ********* ECU OR CARBY can run a 1/4 mile FAST, A real ECU driven engine can do this AND do everything else, be tuned closer to the edge, be more reliable, use less fuel etc etc.

As I have always said look to the professional motorsport arena, Carbies have not been used for decades (unless rules prohibit them) and **** ECUs like Microtech are not used to ANY level of success.

This is how @#$%*$ some tunners are in Australia

MAP = mean ABSOLUTE pressure.

Absolute means atmospheric (can vary between 14.5 to 14.9 roughly, see below) + gauge pressure !

a 2 bar map sensor means that the unit will ONLY read to 2BAR abs = 14.5psi gauge pressure !

Atmospheric can change depending on day and elivation relative to sea level. Average is 14.5psi to 14.9psi at sea level.

The unit will only read to 14.5psi (depending on atmospheric pressure) with a 2bar map sensor any pressure above that it does not have a map refernce for with this sensor !

1000HP20B, sorry I should not be so harsh, it is a common mistake to make to think that a 2bar MAP sensor is talking about gauge pressure.

I cannot believe that it has got back to this again, please give it a break guys! Aswell as not relating to the thread, it really reflects poorly on the the Australian industry. We all have our opinions and all want to know yours, but don't try to impress by slagging others. It really looks bad on yourself.

Bruno,
As you already have two MT tuners prepared to help, I am sure that if you could post your set up with injector size/ fuel pressure/ porting/ fuel type and a brief discription of your vehicle, one of us should be able to provide you with a fairly accurate map to suit your engine turbo combo. To answer your question on the new style of saving programs/ it does save 4 maps directly to the laptop adaptor on the new LTX. While this should act as an excellent base, that is all it will be, just remember A ROTARY ON BIG BOOST DOESN'T PING, IT STOPS!!!!!
Regards- Anthony

Rice Racing,
what is your problem? swearing and name calling and using slang like "suck "c@ck" is boring and is a waste of everybodys time to read ... we all understand you dont like a certain product but you dont have to beat it to death.

1000hp20B is just giving his opinion... no need to act like an idiot
