Even if you pay full retail price the system is more than worth it, as good as Motec for a fair bit less in price. (And yes I have two cars with both systems !)

Mr Rice,
Is there any other options that can be usefull on a rotary besides ignition split that is in the 1.49 chip? I know that you have been firing both plugs at the same with the SMC.
I would like the autotune option, and the rotary chip is missing it.
I just installed a SMC system on a friends Saab 900 T16, and it went like a breeze. I have been fiddling a bit with the SM2 on another friends Audi 5cyl too.
Can anyone send me a base map for a rotary?

I talked to Brian Kennedy in NC about purchasing an SM2, he was extremely helpful and explicit. I will be purchasing a unit through him if a used SM2 doesn't turn up.
Can the SMC be modified to an SM2 or are they completely different designs?
I have a Microtech MT8 with flying harness and hand controller that I am trying to unload so I can put that money towards an SM2.
regards, Rob

Hey Frode.
You can autotune with a rotary chip but need to datalog in order to do it. It works real well. I like it better then the real-time autotune.
The way you do it is set your datalogger to log a/f, load, tps, etc, etc.
Then make a run and datalog. Afterwards pull up the mixture table, press f5, and you will see a map showing what your target a/f is set at and your actual a/f. Press Enter and the autronic will make the necessary adjustments to your fuel map. Do this for all your load points. you will be very happy with the results.

Frode,
Enzo has been a huge help. I am having some issues, but we are working through them. My issues are going to make your install go real smooth. Make sure you wire the injectors and the CDI exactly like the pdf file on the Autronic website.
Do you have the model A or B analyser?

Wow, access to both. I would have to drive at least 250 miles to get one. They are not as readily available here in the US.
Anyway, back to Ted's reply, injectors are dutying at .853ms at idle and the car runs smooth....

Yeah bro let me know (e-mail me). My f*cking out going e-mail seems to have a mind of its own latley
Mine has the high output switching on it but I would love to boost it up more like Ray said onthe main site. How much "juice" are we talking about ? Can I weld with it when my TIG is not working

I made up brackets to mount the 500R and the SM2 together (piggy back style) Routed up cabling to see where it will go. Waiting for some engine bits and my new tripple plate Tilton Carbon Carbon clutch to arrive then I can put the Donk back it and finish it all.
Still a lot to go

Hey,
I've been thinking about getting an SM2, but am somewhat unsure if it is the best choice for my application. I'm building a Rotus 7 (rotary powered lotus replica) and that traction control system is looking pretty sweet. I was just wondering why you all picked the SM2 over other EMSs? I was also considering the E11 and the TEC3. Thanks,
Nick

SM2 runs sequential, right?
Most Haltech E6K / E6X maps are /2, so we're running over twice the /2 duty cycles versus a full sequential map.
This only hit me cause I got to look at a /1 E6X map yesterday, and it finally hit me - duh.
You're right - we're running anywhere from 1.8 to 2.2 at idle on a /2 E6K fuel map.
Adjust for /1, it would be about 0.8 to 0.9 ms, which is exactly what you're running.
Apologizes for the confusion and my idiotness...
