1300cc injectors a bad idea??

All,

I just had a conversation with the guys over at rx7.com. I was asking about the RC 1300cc injectors and I received some negative comments on them. I want to determine if this is just FUD (rx7.com doesn't carry the 1300cc injectors) or not.

Here were the comments:

1) The injectors are "inconsistent"
2) They wear out much faster then Bosch 1600 top-feeds
3) They do not provide repeatable results, and thus tuning is difficult or impossible
4) They "leak", leading to poor performance and possible engine fires

I don't have any experience with this kind of stuff. I am going to call RC today to discuss, but I'd love to hear from list members who have the 1300cc's in their cars and have tuned them on a dyno. I've noticed that this is a very popular mod, and one that I had planned to do myself. I just want to make sure I'm making the right decision. The Bosch 1600cc kit from rx7.com is over $700 (with rail and FPR).

Thanks,

-ch

I have 1300cc factory bored out injectors from RC, and it works great, I can run up to 20 psi now. I would say I gained 100HP from upgrading. I bought a aem computer to controll it, but I'm having trouble tunning it, so I'm just using a F-con. I had to turn it all the way down because it did flood. But once I turned up the boost and turned the f-con down I ran a 11.4 and it's great. My previous best was a 12.7. I haven't anything bad to say at all...just my experience so far.
