that dudes FC is top notch. i wish i could find more info on the spindle/LCA setup he's using. we have the same wheels, and same front fenders, yet his front track is way wider than mine.

maybe notched shock tube for more camber, and 50mm spacer, or extended/tubed front LCA - extended tie rods.
JTP needs to start selling the 45mm front fenders so i can get MO ANGLE. these 30mm's are killing me.

oneround1 06-01-11 04:02 AM

That's nice!!
What I mod on mine for more camber was extended front ball joints. With Subaru impreza inner tie rods and s13 outer tie rods. I can adjust -2 through -8 camber. :p lol just tinkering and help from friends.

Actually, we made custom suspension so that our customer's e-production road race FC could run super low with decent geometry (modded spindles, new control arms, modded rear, etc). You guys can drive/drift/show your cars however you want, just wanted everyone to understand the consequences for doing such. If everybody already did, then cool.

OP knows I'm not just some jerk-off shit talking, he's seen the car I'm referring to..

2A knows his shit! When i get some time, im gonna stop by his shop and see about lca's

These guys own when it comes to rotaries(building and tuning)

You dudes don't even know

2a+RoN 06-01-11 02:09 PM

I was just giving you all a hard time as well, all in good fun. Sure my first post was a tad harsh, didn't realize you guys were so sensitive. Even though I don't agree with the form over function, I give you guys credit for showing up and getting your cars on the track. I wish other forms of racing would have as good of turnouts like we do at the drift nights here in AZ.

I've had a little experience with setting up FC suspension, so was just trying to share.

i'm just giving you a hard time. this whole forum is nothing but people stepping into sub forums - drifting for example, and having the urge to open threads, and bust out their dong showing how much they know and shutting everyone down being an asshole. the way you posted was out of line. obviously. if you don't have anything nice/beneficial to contribute to the growing of this thread/sub-forum, then please don't bother wasting our time with your posts.

this isn't a cock fight. everyones just trying to hangout, and have fun.

yes, i'm pretty sure we all know that you can alter just about anything to correct for ride height by moving pick up points, and making tons of custom, one off, high dollar mods to your car.

we all want to spend minimal money, have fun, get laid, and again, have fun.

Sure!! Hmmm don't know where to start well the inner Subaru tie rod bolts right up. It is extended too. And the tread pitch for outer tie rod can bolt up s13. I'm gonna order some slp outer tie rods. This week see how it feels....
I just got to double check my info

awesome! the tie rods are the same thread pitch for the power rack? it looks menacing. i've been trying to figure out a way to space my ball joints out, but extending the tie rods was the thing holding me back.

thanks for the info! it's cool to support fellow FC dudes.

sweet! disregard my other post for the most part, this answered my questions. so sick. i wanna give it a shot. what year impreza?

airquin23 06-01-11 05:49 PM

I asked that NZ dude what he did to get that camber in front and he said he extended his lca's by 30mm. Idk what else he did but maybe that helps. :)

my issue was finding the tie rods first. when i was looking at it i figured that would have to be the starting point so i knew how much i could lengthen the LowerBJ (yes, im waiting for it) and still have my wheels straight.

Secret Element was making some extended tie rods for power rack but i cant find them now.
i also could just buy another few thread on spacers for the inner tie rod to get the rods extended, although doesnt seem like a rad idea.

my supernow end links are all bent/hammered from use, so going to S13 shit wouldn't bug me. Forrest gets the deals on Stance Super angle tie rod end kits, so ill just buy one of those, and use the impreza tie rods, or like i said just get another angle kit and use the extra spacers, and replace my bunk ass endlinks.

i already have an amazing amount of steering angle before lock, without any binding. just need to get the extra 10* or so left, and space my wheels away from the the frame rail section/lca and not murder my fender while doing so..

oneround1 06-01-11 07:49 PM

I'll double check after work I have a set laying around. The more you extend the ball joints the more camber you can get etc.I believe but the tie rods need extension as well. I give lots of credit to my friend who welded the lower ball joints. Ill take pics of it as well. Idk lol I'm just budget but it helps alot for me in long run...

oneround1 06-01-11 08:23 PM

Oh and if any one is interested in getting lots of rear camber did a mod where you can get -4 to -10 :p for wide wheels lol. Pointless but I just tinkering

here my setup. sorry its dirty from the mud and track days ]. i have it the lift so happen to take pics
i believe subaru impreza tie rods are interchangable 93-05. its been awhile. so it fits perfect in the rack and the outer fits perfect with s13 outers.
i only done this as my friend did a mod with extension of lower ball joints.
thanks. sorry been busy.

any questions lmk. or more pics lmk.

RotaSpinna69 06-18-11 09:33 AM

So in this picture you have '93-'05 Subaru Impreza inner tie rods and factory S13 outer tie rods. That is an extended ball joint as well? Kind of hard to see.

How's the bumpsteer? When on the ground, are the rod and the joint angles still pretty good?

Thanks,

Andrew

oneround1 06-18-11 12:31 PM

Yes the ball joint is extended.
My spindles are still stock.
At full lock nothing hits I use a 1 inch spacer so the tie rods are long enough to where the rack max out and have plenty of room.
The rod angles are still decent I would say but my car is really low and I haven't corrected much yet. I have to remake the ball joints extension by maybe half an inch so less of an angle for better correction. And less adjust for neg camber. As the adjust right now is -2 to -8 camber in
front.
I'll take a pic on the ground
Did you want to see the ball joint mod?
