Ho guys ... After almost one year (minus 10 days !), my toy will see the track again on the 30/31th of july.
Today is the 24th, and a lot of work is required to get it drift ready.
Anyway, I'm gonna tune it by myself right before this drift week end. As it's a grassroots event it's possible that I come back with :
1 - A lot of pictures & videos in / out
2 - Some broken things on the car
3 - Another engine down

I hope I'll bring something otherwise it would mean that I lost another engine and didn't join the track day or that the car sucks and no one wants to take a picture or video of it ^^

Bad week end, as I was unable to do a proper tune on the car. The waste gate wasn't opening tho, so it was running like ****.
I need some paint for my rims too.

Hi,
I have some leads but haven't got the time to take a closer look.
Luckily the car will be on the rollers during october or november and I should be able to fix everything up ...

very much gangster...
but it seems that fd's have so much less angle than nissan silvias
i spun out with my stock fd at baby slip angles. and then the wheel would rub on the control arm with modification... now i have to add gangster spacers for such small clearance gains.
on my s13, i got very much gangsterly sideways.... with only my inner subframe to stop my mad angle as it was rubbing with the inside of the tires..
good jriftin though... besides the over revs a bit... i tend to take it easy with my 13b as it is more fragile than sr20det

Yes, stock sucks, but you should be able to handle it.
First time on track (where the photos were taken) was on stock front wheels + rack spacers + modded knuckles : the wheels were rubbing the LCA pretty bad.
It took me a while to understand why I was spinning and spinning at full lock, and only full lock.
For the second track session, where the videos were recorded, I was using 25mm front spacers + ET20 rims. It was better, but unfortunately I got the chance to complete only one lap before the engine died.
The engine is strong tho, but mistakes on mistakes = disaster. That's how I understood that the FD is a great car but requires to be serious. I was not used to because my BMW is basically a Panzer (with less that 70hp/liter it's not a surprise).

Note : car is on jacks but it doesn't really matter as the caliper is touching the shock bolts on the lower arm. Can make a bit of room by grinding bu haven't done yet.
I don't know what cage it is... I'm guessing an R-Magic 7 points ( http://www.rmagic.net/parts/rollcage/fd3s.html )

The cage is perfect! Seen the cusco dash dodgers everywhere but really struggle to find others. Dash dodgers are no good for competeing so would love one of these for the future
I see you modded your PPF, did you just spot weld the X sections or did you add any aditional bracing?

I was having this very same issue with the stock wheels, the rim was hitting the lower arm pretty hard, making the car spining out... There is still some grooves on the lower arm ^^
Now it's ok, I think this amount of angle is way sufficient for my skills tho !
The PPF has been welded (X + longitudinaly), I was thinking about bracing it but was a bit scared to do something worst than better

Hi guys !
This week end I have brought my FD for a test day, unfortunately I have a bad coil which was causing some serious misfires. Anyway, a lot of modifications have been approved so it's not a waste.
A friend of mine with another FD with similar mods ( GT35R, V-Mount, NGK B11 / B10 EGV ...) was here and let me test his car. He added 4mm spacers on the steering rack, and an almost 0° toe all around.
Well, let's say ... on the wet it was frustrating. As soon as I was hitting the ebrake after a flick-clutch-kick initiating, the car was spinning no matter how I manage the wheel.
You have to constantly hold the angle to keep a safety margin.
In the other hand, mine was pretty fun.
It was raining "like a pissing cow" (that's what we say here ^^), so I don't have many pictures or videos.
Anyway, this one is clean-but-no-drift :
