The ruination of a once fine lady: Now with much less displacement

This will be funny:

Another bunch of pictures and **** about a drift car. Hopefully progress picks up soon, been really busy building another car and traveling with some over night internet sensation. A couple people told me this needed to start so here it goes.

I built this thing and love it, but a good friend of mine felt bad and gave me something better to start with, and I decided to ruin it.

What arrived on my doorstep (THANKS GEORGE!)

Pretty much got a rolling shell missing a motor and seat and decided to take it all apart and then paint the interior because it was the worst color EVER.

Elevens hooked me up with some mistint white, that actually looks really cool, style expert helped me choose a flake and pearl which was raspberry prism shift flake and house of color candy pink pearl

mixed up:

Painted:

What Ksports???

I guess I wasn't going to tell anyone about these but I can't keep secrets to save my life. 17x8.5 and 17x10.5
I got some of these too and painted them, going to be same as the interior minus the flake, white with pink pearl

And finally, the absolute coolest thing I've ever owned.
The dude told me this was built by maziora in 2001 for a tokyo auto salon car and the burnt finish inspired the maziora paints of today. I was told it was a one of a kind wheel and its seriously super cool. I don't usually get all fanboy about **** but this is honestly a really rad piece and I'm pumped

(p.s. pictures seriously don't do it justice)

Let me tell you what major things got accomplished: Nothing.

Waiting on Adapter plate from machine shop (Soon!), Waiting on clutch from ACT. After the trans is mounted to the motor things will happen quick I hope I'm half retarded so we'll see. Thankfully my friends feel sorry for me.

However, I bought a new steering hub because I though mine was bent. NOPE. Wheel/hub/quick release wobble when they are spun, no ******* idea why yet.

But Started mocking everything up in the car, seat sliders/mount, wheel/QR/Hub, Dash, switch panel.

From here i decided to acquire parts and make minimal progress by actually going backwards. Cut out the spare tire thing in the hatch and replaced with a flat plug

A cup holder!

Extended the lower ball joint out 10MM because I hang around nerds

More camber and track width and ****...

And now I start buying fancy **** and taking pictures of it

[imghttp://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj132/theshdwconspracy/FC%20Build/FCbuild3-16007-1.jpg[/img]

Skeptical Dog approves:

More or less up to speed.

The catch to all of this "cool" looking **** is that I'm putting my current motor in the FC. 1.6L of pure mazda fury.

I'll save the rest of the boring *** pictures If anyone is still even looking.

Bought 1000CC injectors, will run E85, vmount, stupid turbo, megasquirt and should make about 300-350WHP

I'm going to make (have friends make) a TII transmission adapter plate for the miata, it shouldn't be very hard at all.
The miata trans are made out of glass so I'm just going to skip that idea.

That's pretty much it. Hopefully I'll be putting the motor in pretty soon. I need to tidy the motor up a little bit and make the adapter but then it should go together pretty simply from there.

Small updates, mainly just parts that i bought and then one actual progress picture.

sunday, i was bored so i pulled my motor out of the old chassis. It literally took an hour by myself, it was the easiest thing ever and I'm super surprised, it's never been out in 20 years. I also found the clutch i need to put a TII trans to my motor so after atlanta I'm going to start on the adapter plate

Then my bushings came in from MMR, (45 days after I paid, exactly on time for that guy)
These are for the trailing arms and apparently they make tons of grip and ****. idk nerd bullshit

Then i put on the old aero and new hood and got everything lined up. ED doesn't fit terribly:

I bought the biggest spacers man makes in order to make my awesome wheels fit better.

Here are my zilvia "fitment pics on a car that won't ever run" pics

Then I had a friend spray the wheels, same as the interior except an accident with the pearl necklace dumped a ton on the first wheel making it pink. SO, we sprayed all 4 pink. Came out pretty good. Took the barrels to the polisher and HOLY ****. I'll get the rears back tomorrow.

My dog being noble as ****

I started the seat bracket, but had to start over.

Stared making the stands to mount the wing, those aren't done yet.

steering wheel still wobbles, ???

It's also been over 110* like every day. 2014 build in progress lol

This car WILL be at ASB, no questions asked. Even if i have to drive it from AZ

Ok so this update is big progress although it looks minor. Huge thanks to Joe and George for putting up with me/helping me build building this car.

Got my trans plate back from machine shop, and started working on it a few days later.

However NO ONE in the US makes an M12x1.5 flat top bolt to bolt the plate to the motor so George found some in the UK but the UK is on holiday for the next MONTH, *******. So next month when they get back to work they'll send me some. The hardware mazda uses is all fine or medium fine thread pitch and apparently 'Merica only carries coarse ****.

Joe and I started on the plate adapter itself and we got all the holes tapped and figured out the starter/slave/clutch fork/TO bearing situation. Except for actually cutting the shape out, the plate is DONE. Now it gets scanned and then we make motor mounts and bolt the trans and diff in, check the driveshaft and she's off for the manifold/exhaust etc. GETTING PROGRESS.

Notch for the starter in miata factory location: 30mm bolt under the notch

I also test fit my wheels, If you remember this car it is at the exact same height as last year minus motor/driveline. Looks like I'll be lowering it!

I washed my SWEET rolling chassis becaue the dust here is so bad, even under a car cover, where it spends its days.

In between that my dog played with Joe's dog. Crazy how small he is compared to joes pig Weimaraner

Once plate is done, start motor/trans/driveshaft stuff. Make tabs for Vmount and off to the welder for manifold/IC piping!

ASB is too soon!

Huge updates this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got the motor in the car and trans/motor mounts are fabbed up.

Next week it's going to go to a dude locally to make my manifold, downpipe, dump tube, and IC piping for the Vmount.

Got quite a few details to iron out still but the big things are all getting done which is radical.

Test fitting:

Mounts all done

We used DOM tubing, the stock mount that bolts to the block and some 1/4" thick base plate material, and then boxed them in with like 1/8" steel.

Firewall clearance: What a retarded place for the CAS, oh well:

mounts finished!

Motor sits/trans sits a little further back than stock ~3" My tranny is tucked high and sits in a strange spot but the position of the shifter is pretty good

V mount is done and it's off to the fab guy to make the manifold down pipe and IC stuff.

I also went to Iron maiden and pushed a bunch of fat 40yr old men around and decided to take a job as a 7th grade English teacher in the GHETTO.

I'm hopefully driving the 29th of september with the twin car and another friend so that would be rad as ****.

I needed a sweet shift **** to go with my steering wheel, this was the best I could do. Also very fitting if you know me.

Why did I just now find this!!!!!!!! Are there any other BP-T FCs running around???? I want to do this so bad, I just cant see how you can hate on it.... its another Mazda powerplant, the motor is stout and does good on its own, but the miata drivetrain is crap. In my eyes, this is the most honorable *NON-ROTOR* motor swap an RX7 could ever get.

I would have much rather picked a 1.8, but I understand its what you had. In either case you will now have quick power, better gas mileage, and more reliability.... I cant hate.

20b or fully built 1.8 BP motor with Flyin Miatas 2.0 big bore kit, and high rev kit... yes, not the easiest 500+ hp to acquire, but like I said, its the ONLY motor swap I feel is very honorable to the RX7. (and I dont have a problem with drift cars... but I am MUCH more interested in seeing this build for a track car.)

Im so glad I can follow this thread. (First car was a 95M. I spent all my time only learning about rx7s and miatas. Still have my "jdm" protege valve cover that I got powdercoated Bronze, like yours... You know... In-case I ever want to find myself a 1.8....)
