Ahah yes !
It was an accident for the first one... I mean, without instrument cluster, it's hard to see the limit. Usually I hate hitting the rev limiter, but when I've heard this sound... WOAW  |

Could be Lower????? that's as low as Megan street coilovers go. i could go way lower in the back and make it look like those people that drive their trucks or lowriders with their airbags inflated in the front and deflated in the rear, but i'm not a homo so i'll pass. |

did you try pushing the springs down at all? 90% of coilovers that are "maxed out" aren't even close
i have the fronts compressed a little bit. i didn't do anything radical, compression wise, because i still want my suspension to work like i want it to. i just don't think they'll work as good for me if i almost fully compressed the spring. i could be wrong though so i'm open to opinions. here's some more from the event. my buddy Ryan aka Ninjaracer13 http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3...ftx_t00116.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3...ftx_t00115.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3...riftx00171.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3...riftx00195.jpg |
Can someone explain pre-loading springs? Does it change the spring rate, I want/need to go stiffer.
|
I google'd it...

"Preload is the amount of force imposed on the spring by the damper when the suspension is fully extended. It is really only an issue in coilover setup, since preload is adjustable. With traditional shocks, preload is not adjustable. " -source

turbo sway bars, stiffen up the dampers, if that doesnt work, try sagging the springs so the damper is in the middle of the stroke at static
if none of that works......spring it |

so you know how to lower a coilover right? Now think about screwing the spring perches downward toward the ground so when the car is sitting in the air the springs essentially bounce around but when the car is on the ground it will compress more putting the damper in a better position

exactly, your car will be lower as well when you do that though so be ready for that
