Manual rack?
#2
i used to and there is a regular that does. its not bad actually. either a de powered power rack or a manual. neither are too hard to get used to but the manual rack is more turns lock to lock so it may be a little easier in the parking lot and such but they catch just as easily as a powered rack.

From: We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?
really he is how it goes for me. PS<Manual rack<depowered rack<electric. The PS rack has a quicker ratio but powered it feels squishy, depowered however it has great response and a quicker turn.

I've been drifting a manual rack for about a year now.
I like it. Some times the extra turns can be an issue but I love the feed back from it. I can really feel where the wheels are.
I just got a S4 PS rack which I am going to gut and depower to get the better ratio.
I got the PS rack due to the availability of angle mod kits.

i used to have a manual rack in my car, it was ok. then i bought a S5 rack, quickest ratio they made for the FC, and depowered it. to all those people who say it's a "pain" or "hard" to daily drive a 7 with this depowered rack, your pussies. the only complaint i have is that cruising down the freeway requires much more attention, cause it's way quicker and responsive then a manual rack. and properly depowerd, it gives just as good of feedback as my manual ever did.

manual rack gets tha job done. i wuldnt mind a ps rack but that **** looks nasty sticking off an engine.ive been rocking a manual rack since day 1, and all i need now are modified knuckles and to straighten out the lca and tie rods laterally

wow i totally forgot i posted this.
thanks for all the feed back
so i just picked up another s4 t2 and to my suprise it has a manual rack, ive never seen one in an fc before.
so a depowered ps rack is a ps rack with looped lines and no ps pump?

that's one way, but not the right way. tearing it down, removing all the seals, regreasing it, welding the valve body, and sealing the line inlets and outlets is the proper way. Apex944 and i did this to a S5 rack of mine and it's brilliant.
