I was hoping to still keep it as a weekend car or even maybe as a DD, and welding it would only make it handle weird street driven, so I'm opting for a LSD

driving a car with a welded diff on the street is not bad. just have to watch out in the rain...but if you do plan on auto crossing the car then its bad. welded diffs are only good for drifting not so much grip racing.

I feel like the only people that say that are the ones that have never driven with a welded diff.... you don't notice it anywhere except a parking lot, and you won't even notice it there in a couple weeks

don't s4 na's come stock with lsd anyway?

^^^ i agree ^^^ welded diff and coils. im all for the welded diff. my car sucked in the rain with s5 diff and bald tires anyway. eh whatever. weld it and call it a day.

+100 weld the open diff and buy coils. Welded diffs aren't horrible for street driving. You may go through tires faster but what drifter doesn't? I was nervous about welding mine but i "nutted up", welded it myself and never looked back. I'd prefer a good 1.5 LSD but welded works just as good in the beginning and still now.

spend the money you would spend on a good diff and get a seat, steering wheel/hub, harness, and tie rod spacers/ends, and maybe spindles if you have cash to blow on stuff.

you'll be setup pretty good with all that and somewhat safe feeling

A badass set of coils or a good diff will run you $1100 or more depending on if you are installing yourself or not.

A cheap set of coils will be $700-900. For the $1,100 you are going to spend, buy the beginner coils, have someone local weld the diff for $20, and buy my Awesome Shop knuckles for $225

just get used coils to start with. then weld the diff. I got parts shop max coils and my 86 na/stock other then shitty custom exhaust can swing around all right now. better then with the old suspension. I'm mostly spinning one wheel more then the other but I'm getting some angle and thats what counts. I'm just starting out so seat time is key. oh, I did trade my stock drivers seat for a corbeau forza to some guy. a seat with high sides definitely helps, I'm still on the stock seat belt though for now.
