it's impressive and i won't deny that Ken Block has some skill (a lot more then me) but he's really not that good, in terms of professional racers/drifters/rally guys. just because he makes neat video's were he's NEARLY flawless people make a big deal out of it. honestly, how many takes did it take to make that video? do you really think he did the whole video in one try? i highly doubt all shots are from one "great" run. look how well he did in the X Games when his skills are really put to the test and other pros are around. he got knocked out in the first round and by a long shot or atleast from what i saw. there's more hype then skill with him in my opinion. honestly who would you rather have in ANY auto comp, Ken Block or Rhys Millen? Rhys Millen hands down, or how about others like Tanner Foust, Samual Hubinette, and the late great Colin McRae. all of who have a variety of auto related backgrounds and the skill to win champioships and set records..... without making their own videos to hype themselves up.

The first two were better, Left coast: you hit it on the money I feel the same way, I've seen Block in person race I and Block could be a better driver, I feel that sometimes he's not very smart on the track and puts his car out of competition, which is sad because I would like to see him go further for all the hype that has been put into him.

ken just drives. his sponsor says we want a vid and he is happy to produce. of course its not one single amazing run, that part is apparent with the already existing tire marks on the road. yes he can be a better pro driver but he is still very new in the wrc world and it shows.

besides the mention of McRae, your list of amazing drivers is disappointing. rhys is half of what his dad is and nobody likes tanner or sam for a reason. all three of those drivers bought their championships.

nobody likes Tanner or Sam? really? that's a suprise to me. last FD i was at people were cheering them on the whole time and there were long lines of people waiting to get autographs and pictures. must suck to be hated so bad.
honestly, if you had to choose one driver to race for you with a million dollar purse who would you choose out of McRae, Millen, Foust, Hubinette and Block. i highly doubt it'd be Block.
bought their championships? how do you figure that?
AGAIN, i have no problem with him or his videos per say. i have a problem with people thinking he's a rally god or doing something so amazing and new. so many people i've met at autox, drift events and other events talk like he's some great phenom and they have no idea what they're talking about.

eh its pointless to argue but nobody that i know that is truly into drifting as a sport, like those guys. everyone that cheers for them, cheer for them because they dont know any better. im not going to say that everyone in the world dislikes them as drivers but its plain to see how they cater to the weekend fans.
they bought their championships because when things were still new and most team budgets werent sky high, they were factory backed and dumping hundreds of thousands into their programs. to me that just kind of kills the fun of the sport and although they still hover up top, they (especially rhys) just dont seem to get the job done anymore.
in any case, im just ranting because i am jealous.

^ I don't think you can blame anyone for taking a factory backed sponsorship when it's offered to them. Anyone who considers this "Selling Out" will just be lying if they said they would turn down that sort of sponsor attention and if they did turn it down, they would be a fool.

Ken Block isn't a "sell out" and that's not what i was getting at at all. he's taking advantage of a situation that was offered to him. no harm in that, i'd do the same thing if people offered to sponsor me and make videos. i'm just not on the "Ken Block Fanboi Train" and i just want to make it known to noobs that he's not "The Greatest Driver Ever!!!!" like a lot of them try to make him out to be. a lot of drivers could do the same damn things he's doing if they had all the sponsorships, the press and the 600WHP AWD WRC full race Festiva to boot.

Lol at all of this. Yeah, he's not the greatest driver ever, but he gets to drive around and have fun in a badass 600hp awd car all day if he wants. And he's decent enough to do some crazy **** that impresses 99% of the world. I talk **** cuz I'm jealous, but his videos are pretty entertaining, as much as watchin jtp do his thing, and we all watch the videos, don't we? Why, cuz the they're entertaining.

Most of what I was referring to was that Sam Hubinette and Tanner Foust bought their championships. I think they just took advantage of opportunities and made their way to the top. Now that everyone has huge sponsorships they are both still top 10 drivers.
