FC Differential Question: VLSD ok to drift?

I posted up this question in the Gen 2 tech section, was told that I would be disappointed by the performance of the GTUs' Viscous LSD for drifting. I have an opportunity to get one for very cheap, and was wondering if anyone here has used one/uses one for drifting?

Viscus is like a torque converter for an auto tranny... its not really a locking diff like a clutch type.

I would say(if your into drifting) find a clutch type and rebuild it or go weld an open diff. Just my 2 cents worth.

BEST description I have ever heard. That alone told me everything I need to know. Thank you so much!

The long term plan was to Frankenstein a GXL LSD clutch pack to a GTUs 4.3 gear. But I don't think I'll be able to do that by the 25th of February. Which is when the event is.

where did you say anything about a welded?

you asked if Viscous is ok to drift. My reply was - "i would not waste my time swapping it in"

you want a diff to lock, or be permanently locked (opt for an actual clutch type before cheaping out)

yes welded, or yes clutch type. VLSD sucks alot of dick.

Oh, sorry, that was in the other thread. Currently my options are: VLSD, Rebuild a clutch type LSD (which I really don't have the money to do right now), or Welded Open.

Thanks everyone for your help.
