Diff Stud Replacement
Hey guys, I wanted to know if anyone has ever replaced the diff studs/spikes on their 7. I had to cut about a 1/4 inch off one because a nut refused to not cross thread 8 months ago and now the other one decided to strip out as soon as it starts to get tight
So I cut two holes in the hatch area to take a peek at how Mazda welded them in. Pretty sturdy stuff, it looks like it's gonna be a pain to cut them out. I remember seeing a write up about subframe stud replacement which seemed similar but i thought i'd ask so i could get some more advice on it or info.
If someone has a better idea then cutting them out I'm all ears to that too

yeah, i don't even bother trying to remove one or the other anymore, learned that lesson quick. i drop the whole thing every time now and i've got it down to a science sadly enough. i think it only took me 15 or 20 minutes last time

that's not the thread I was thinking of but should be good enough. the thread I remember the OP replaced the diff studs and the sub frame studs, his were rusted solid. far more pics and more of a write-up.
