CR garage pirate fc build
BACKSTORY-
me and a buddy of mine recently got an awesome deal we couldnt pass up on a rolling chassis. we had the space so we went for it. this is the story of our build from the beginning. were just 2 guys with normal day jobs and a basic understanding of cars.
NO shops
NO sponsors
NO mommy and daddy money
were doing all of the work ourselves with a little help from some friends here and there. we just want to build a drift car thats a little bit cool and mostly stupid.
anyways enough of the BS talking on with the pics
heres the car as it sat when we rolled it off the trailer
hoopty AF. god awful extreme dimensions aero, pep boys steering wheel, etc
thing smelled like cat **** and had what looked to be ecstasy and trash from the past 5 years in it. not to mention some sweet *** racing seats
god this things so gay

ahem..so I guess as long as it has an *** it doesn't really matter what it looks like?
also note no room for a BRA..and since it has NO engine, you can't say that it "has *****" at this point either!
So Gay?.NO..Morphed boobless/ball-less Hybrid drift bucket..Yes!
(Nice Find RICE..I am sure that thing is gonna be Stellar!)

took those shitty pep boy seats and made them chairs in our garage much more useful that way and they arent endangering anyone's lives
windshield cracked somehow unknown to me so we took it out. some guitar string did the trick. dont worry we didnt use the 6th string
front suframe out. it amazes me how dirty this crap was
rear subframe out. my skinny *** wasnt ready for how heavy it was. had to get 3 other people to help move that
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WTF IS THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS

i guess we cant complain we have a pretty sweet view of the city
the overfenders were about the only salvageable part of the old aero so i decided to fix them up a little in my spare time. plus itd be cool to have one part left on the car from before the rebuild. the previous owner said they were 30mm but they look alot more like 50 to me what do you think? (take note of the dick drawing)
alright my buddies drawing skills are a little better. sanded
im not exactly sure what i was doing here but lets take a minute to acknowledge how skinny and gay i am. okay
getting rid of the sound deadening. such fun. i love doing this. alot.
dude eff this stuff
#hairyarms4lyfe
sometimes its actually works like it supposed to
eh trunks kinda somewhat done. thats the easiest part

so since we decided to build this car backwards aka engine last and everything else not as important first, we started to dig into the front and rear subframes. the front spindles and balljoints were sent to abercrombie to be modded (more on that later) and since there wasnt much we could do on that, we got some rear end action (lol)
since we will be going T2 rear end, were not really caring about the NA diff and axles theyre just oversized 2 ton garage ornaments for now
remember that slag *** weld job/broken diff mount from earlier? it was super easy to get off aka it wasnt and i got a little butthurt
-subframes are gay
-shitty welds are gay
-im gay?????
unrelated picture to the build but happened about the same point in time. DONT LET THE COOLANT GET @ U BRUH

gettin hard
we picked these up a few days after pbm released. i have doubts about the design of the tilting subframe bushings but figured id try them out anyways cuz its a cool idea
so a handful of emails and one threat of a paypal dispute later, we got our stuff from MMR
-comp diff mount
-pinion snubber
-solid front control arms
-spherical rear control arms
-solid motor
-solid tranny
-solid dtss
-solid diff
-solid adjustable subframe
-camber adjustable rear upper hub
-solid shifter

now.........getting the old bushings out...
before going on i want to just say that this was probably one of the most miserable things ive ever done mechanically. if youre thinking about doing it just dont. just dont. id rather have someone slam my ***** in a door repeatedly than do this again. NEGATIVE amounts of fun
surprisingly this actually worked
bought this dumb thing hoping itd make our lives easier but it did little more than punch out a few of the metal sleeves because it was too small to fit anything else
it has little use outside of being a really big 6 ton can crusher

FLOSS
finally got those stupid dtss in. never again
might as well ball hard on the rest of the rear too

i think all the adjustable links on the market right now are RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. also-im a cheap ***. solution: we made our own links. im semi proud of these cuz they dont completely look like poo
price for all three links- under $200
figured wed start f*ckin with brakes
this should be interesting
probably overkill but this is america. whatever
gonna try out the dual caliper bracket from racefab cuz im sick of effing with the stock ebrakes idc what everyone says
picked up these brand new hawk hp+ pads for half price. yes plz
i know were not anywhere near getting an engine but my local dealership acquired these decade-old mazdaracing pulleys and gave them to me for next to nothing. sweet!

Honestly the pics don't really show how shitty that Aero was. It was shredded AF. I have a hookup at AIT so we most likely will be running their stuff. the Aero on my red car fits near perfect

Im loving this thread. Its all about doing **** yourself in the drift world and this is awesome! Especially like the way u got the bushings out with the jaw puller lol. Also cant wait to see your rear dual caliper setup. Gonna run one on mine too
