Eh, not too bad. I did everything BUT mount it today. It has some flex to it so it's not hard to get it to fit flush. I had my brother hold one side down while i held the other and no gaps.

DCW's joint probably fits better and is way easier to install....but this wasn't too hard.

The only prep i had to do is hit it up with 400 grit, lay some glazing compound, sand again, prime.... I already drilled the holes in my hatch and will finish sanding with 800 and perma-mount tomorrow. After putting the screws in, it fit FLUSH.

Aero should be 100 percent primmed and ready for paint tomorrow. Then i get to finish off the metal body. How fun.......

I got my car October of 08, came on here the next day and have been pushing myself ever since.

When i have a vision, i WILL make **** happen. I'm really passionate about cars and this car especially. I've put in soooo many hours and it's FAR from pro status. Not that i plan or want to go pro anyway. I hate rules. I'm drinking 211 high gravity right now trying to mount my bucket to the floor. Probably not the best thing to do in the world.

Shitty aero wheel well molding tip:

If you find your rear bumper not lining up as you'd like with your sideskirts, clear tape and zip ties work fine. Glass wont stick to the tape and you can bust the zip ties out of your newly made wheel well wrap around with ease.

I really should have taken pictures but it's not easy. MY brother needed gloves to do some ink work, took half my box so i've been glassing barehanded. I didn't want to ruin the cam.....

Oh well. My beer is empty, i should get back to work. I want to go to the skatepark before the sun goes down.

One more thing dude, if you still haven't mounted that roofwing...3m tape is more then plenty. I had a roof wing on my fc and s14, fc was on for a month max before I sold it and it was bitch to get off, the one on my 14 was on for well over a year and probably still is assuming the kid who bought the car didn't wreck it. If you do a good mounting job with 3m and you tried to pull the wing you'd probably damage the wing.

It doesn't lay flat..... That's why the 3m tape wont work. If i mount it to the roof instead of the hatch, it lays flat but then it doesn't work with my s4 sport spoiler.

It fits good but i'm using a combination of 3m and the self taping screws for final mounting. I'm covered in wetsand primmer goo right now but if i get it on the car today, i'll take some pics. Easiest part of the aero by far.

Not much else needs to be done. A few holes drilled, some sanding so primmer will stick, primmer and then shooting everything black to hide ****.

Oh, and skid plates.....

I'm thinking i just say **** it and buy a blister kit next year. It's like $2k but this isn't a full on track **** so it doesn't matter. I'll run this **** into the ground. Yes, even after all that work i really dont care. It's just a car. Money comes and goes.....

True. Big *** jug of resin and chopped strand mat is on standby. I'm going to get to work on my hood very soon and i have to make a mold b/c i have a few locals wanting what i'm cooking if it doesn't turn out gay. Two are freebies for friends who have hooked me up in the past.

It does.

I want it like this:

Here's the fc. Square. Boring. I thought it looked cool but now that i know it's possible to make your own **** if you do some homework, **** this hood. I'm doing it up trapezoid style!

Raceonusa fitment. Not perfect but good enough. You want a roof wing? Buy from shine or dcw. I didn't put much work in on this. Just glazed the deep scratches, sand, primmer, sand, primmer, done.

I know this is a bit old but I have a friend that got one of those for his S13. Just cut a big hole in the hood, riveted it down. It looks pretty good for ghetto. I'd imagine some kitty hair and paint would make it look original.

Rivet the scoop to the underside and kitty hair the gap on the top? It's not that hard of a concept...

It cracks. Esepcially if you cut a big *** square in your hood. Hood is allowed to flex and temp difference and whatnot will cause it to crack. I wouldn't blend it in. You can but it's not ideal to bond a huge glass panel to metal. Drift car.....

Technically, you could use 3m panel bond and duraglass and have it come out rather nifty. I would do this to an aluminum hood over steel but it's your **** so do what you like.

There really isn't a need to glass it to the car either unless you're going for a silky show look or if you are cutting your own vents into your hood, bending the metal down and just glassing the "framed" edge around the drop vent.

Chaser and vis as of like a few weeks ago started making these vents as well. I guess the demand created a supply.

I'm kinda tired of body work after all this **** (you can imagine) so it will be a while before i update with pics and ****. I'm shopping for a rather large cummins turbo and some other crap so my **** will be in hiding for a few months. I really dont give a rats *** about pg/paint and **** anymore. **** will be murdered out because it's easy and i'm lazy.

What finishing glaze are you using homie?

Dont say semen.......

I can already anticipate that response.

I ask because the gay red **** i used doesn't have any flex to it and ended up cracking where i re-glassed those rear caps of the skirts back on. I sanded it all back down and i'm going to try to gel coat it next week. The rest of the aero came out pretty nice though and is holding up fine from me kicking the **** out of it every time i work on my car and forget it's on the ground.

well to get the scoop piece to bond u need panel adhesive, i use 3m stuff but evercoat makes it to, its use to bond beside door skins fiberglass smc all kinds of ****.
and to mold it in use duraglass or fibertech fibertech is good **** but its a little pricey but it made for exactly what you are doing i use it all the time for that kind of stuff, i actually jus used it on a porshe tail i did i put a whale tail on the stock metal decklid, fibertech bonds, waterproofs and is flexible good ****

i use metal glaze by evercoat

I don't Know supposedly it makes the dry time slower but hattonite in the filer is what makes **** sand easier, so any filler with that, makes life easier, also if you add glaze putty to your filler it will dry faster.
Not that slide didn't know that, jus for the other peeps
