CA Worth swapping cloth seats for leather?

85 GSL, with grey interior, cloth seats.

Looking for opinions on whether it's worthwhile to swap out the original cloth seats for leather seat covers.

I'm interested in maintaining a fairly stock look as I go about restoring the car (except for the radio, which I'm upgrading to newer technology and functionality).

Leather seats would be nice, but I don't want to do it if it would give a "funny" look to the car. I.e., door panels still cloth but seats are leather, etc.

Thoughts or opinions appreciated.

Thanks.

I liked the look of the black leather interior my 79 had. I am currently doing a full part out of ALL the interior pieces if your interested.

If you can find good to excellent leather components at a reasonable price then do it. It only adds value to the car. It is only your time that you don't have to pay.

Hope this helps you.

Did mine with seats and door pads for a scrap yard wreck. Door pads were not very different from the original ones but in better shape. Leather looks better. Nicer seats too as they came out of an 85.

I went to a local upholsterer. He had fabric almost identical to the original and matched the side panels great. Lasting and much cheaper than leather.

leather, much softer, easier to clean, but gets hotter and colder than cloth.
