Official: DGRR Intro to EFI tuning seminar..

Its official!

We'll be offering an intro to EFI tuning.

The class will be 2 x 2 hour sessions (total of 4 hours) and will cover basics to EFI tuning.

The class will cover almost everything you need to know about rotary engine and get you familiar with EFI system. This class is a water down seminar of Chuck Westbrook seminar. It will cover the basics but will not go in depth into using Apexi PFC. It will provide enough information for you to be familiar with any stand alone and able to be comfortable knowing what to look for and how to set up.

Cost will be $60/person and class will be limited to 20 people MAX.

Here is a quick outline of the class

Intro Tuning seminar – Approx 4 hours.

I. Basic Rotary Engine
a. Types – 10A, 12A, 13B, 13B-RE cosmo, 13B-REW, 20B, and Renesis
b. Assembly of the engine (rotor housing, eshaft, rotors, etc)
c. Apex seals, sides, corner seals, etc
d. Cooling system and Oil system
e. Mechanical movements of rotors
II. Ignition/Timing
a. Mechanical side of timing – crank angle, ECU, ignitor, coils, wires, sparks
III. Porting Basics
a. Describe different ports – Street, Bridge, True Prepherial, and Renesis Prepherial.
b. Basic port timing
IV. Turbo Basics
a. Turbo System Basics (Cover IC, BOV, Wastegate, Manifold, etc)
b. Single vs Twin
c. Seq. vs Non-Seq
V. Fuel System Basics
a. Pumps, Injectors, pressure regulator,
b. Injector duty and how it all works together
VI. ECU Sensors
a. Importance of all the sensors
VII. ECU basics
a. How it monitors and controls sensors
b. Importance of ECU parameters
VIII. Basic Tuning
a. Data logging
b. Analyzing Data
c. Tuning on a Dyno vs Street
This class will be great for those thinking about tuning, getting tuning done, or just to learn more about how rotary cars work.

It is.. Reason for that is we didn't want to take 4 hours all on one day. As people might be leaving early on Sunday and some might want to participate and hang out with people on saturday.. All 4 hours on a single day might inhibit people from having fun or miss check out on Sunday.
