LOL...no way! It was coined by Gringo Grande (Kevin) at dinner Thursday night. Everyone was ordering beers and I had to have some wine. Needless to say, I was too "classy" for them. lol

My only gripe for the whole weekend is we needed more FC's, but that's on the owners not the organizer . Other than that I was pleased with the way things were judged and handled. Phil does an excellent job of handling everything under trying circumstances. I think some people think he just sits around all year planning DGRR. Hopefully I can bring up my FD and FC next year as well as a secret project for the other rotary category. Anyway, you keep handling your business Phil. You've got my support.

I'm sorry but as the official representative of Lord Edward Vergara the III, I regret to inform you that the schedule of his "Classiness" is already booked for next years DGRR. I may be able to find you 30 seconds while he is in the shower at 7AM if you have time. Pending that following through, perhaps Breakfast at the 2013 DGRR?

That being said, if you are over 6'4" you may join Dale Clark and I at our exclusive "High Top" table.

Rich likes blowing trannies

On a serious note, I just want people to be happy and not look for reason to not attend. I think several people in the past have 'lost' the car show and thought it was unfair and decided not to come to this event.. and this year I realized that it needs to be taken more seriously as people do take it serious. I guess as someone not ever going to be entering the show, I never thought about what others might be thinking about the show... SO, I am going to announce it that it will be different.. Its honor in someway that those of you think highly about the DGRR and we will make it that way to a degree..

DGRR site will also go through some changes and also dedicated forum so people don't have to go all over the rotary forums to get info.. I'll also try to start keeping track of all the winners and all the attendees.... I guess next year DGRR will be more organized so we could all have fun!!!

That being said... this year we had somewhat of a weak turn out... let's make next year the BIGGEST rotary event!!! And hopefully if Mazda comes out with some new rotary vehicle, they will bring it out for all of us to see and maybe ride in.

If new vehicle do come out, I'm going to ask all of you to sign a petition to Mazda to be part in DGRR

I will be the first to say that if I can make it to next years DGRR, I will have NO interest or part of the car show. Although I am an avid car show attendee/participate, I plan on spending all my time driving the roads in and around the Dragon.
The 4 to 5 hours I spend cleaning, polishing, shinning etc etc.. can be put to better use driving around in my FD.

This is my personal feeling and decision. It has NOTHING to do with anything or anyone or how things went down.. I made that decision on my drive back home this past Sunday...

Lastly, I think Phil has made a good decision to be better organized. It is a great event on the East Coast and it would be great to have it for years to come..

Joe

Thanks Joe for understanding and hope you will still show off your car... As I do think its a very Nice car (a fellow MB owner). Also, Saturday show and shine is more like people checking out other people's car... and shouldn't be really consider a drive time (unless you really want to).

And finally, I have already asked couple of people to be judges. Through out the year til next year's event, all the judges will know what to expect and such and take the responsibility more seriously. But at the end, I hope all will just relax and enjoy the company of others.... And let it be what it is and not affect relationship between other rotary or ex-rotary owners. I know sometimes we get bit jealous or competitive, but it doesn't have to be. Ultimately, we all enjoy our cars for what it is.. Mine, being a riced out MB FD, that I wished it was Black But when I get inside, I just like how it drives and such... We all appreciate other people's cars and I think ultimately we get together to form a friendship and hang out for a weekend talking about random stuff til 3AM.. So, lets try to have this mentality for next year!!

Oh, Also... I know many of you have never seen Cosmo in person.. I'm sorry I didn't bring that car out. Hopefully next year, I'll have someone bring it along so some of you who wished to see it could see it in person and maybe ride in it or I might let you drive it.

Hey Phil, didn't notice a "long distance" award. Are you planning an award like that each year? Might be fun to give a winner a gas card instead of the traditional tropy or plaque.

Phil, kudos for putting on the event each year. As a guy who's run an annual big event (for my software company), these things suck to organize. So, thanks for doing it.

It's kind of a double edged sword. You want the event to grow (and it is the largest now on the east coast) but with that comes the headaches of needing more organization. You are on top of it for the car show with the new criteria. It's good that people know what to expect if they enter. That's been my beef in the past, you never know what the judges are judging. I also hate getting trapped in for the 5 hours or so and this year, we couldn't get out until after 1 pm which kind of loses the day. At the end of the day, I don't really care too much about the car show and I too have made the decision to just go out and drive Saturday morning. Keeps me from having to wash the car

On a side note, it seems to me that you might have outgrown the venue and the multiple parking lots are making it difficult to get all the cars lined up. Have you looked into the Fontana Village Resort (http://www.fontanavillage.com/accomm...s/index.html)? I drove past it a few times and it's right next to the dam which means its very close to the Tail also so from a convenience perspective, this might be a good option. Don't know the parking situation but the rest of the place looks really nice. Food for thought.

Thanks for putting on the event and I appreciate the thoughts and organization for next year. Let me know if I can help in any way.

David,

1st 3 DGRR was at Fontana Village. Previous owners were great but the new owners are far worse and decided I would not go back. I been very happy with NVNC and having the place to ourselves is very nice. Also, Fontana lodges aren't as nice and you are pretty much trapped far as eating goes.

Anyhow, We'll see how it goes next year..

you know all the big car shows have girls who are paid to be there walking around in bikinis or tight little outfits... we've not hit that level yet... I mean, Phil did ask me if I wanted to walk around 1/2 nekkid and pose on cars, but i didn't think many of the male owners would be as understand and appreciative of our efforts...

But, that is the past... now we look to the future... and i'll be sure to be in better shape next year so i can bring sexy back!

Gotcha. I too like the friendliness of the Nantahala folks. The parking is not ideal though for the show.

Yes, it's all changed now. Marco set a new standard with his cute GF standing by his car in her matching blue shoes.

Bring on the hoochie mamas! Why should the Supra guys have all the fun?

Well,...

I do know the girl on the right (Dawn Jaro). I thought about hiring her one year.... But she now lives in LA instead of ATL.
