cabin sharing for DGRR 2012
a friend and i have been considering this. looking to use the cabin we used last yr but it's only 2 bdrm + a bunk bed but will actually sleep like 10 ppl. looking for interested parties who would like to join in. right now there's myself and 2 other couples involved so that's 5 of us(3 way split). unfortunately the one free night discount that NVNC offers wont apply since it's no longer one of their cabins.

I might be interested - where is the cabin located and how much and for how many nights - beginning when to when? Last year we stayed at the hotel in Bryson but I would like to be closer to the village and in a cabin w/car folks It would be me and my friend - we can share beds with each other - we aren't shy, lol.

the cabin is like 5 min from nantahala village. will be getting it for that thrus, fri, and sat(4/19, 20, and 21). beds will already be taken by the current 2 couples. not sure bout cost yet as i haven't heard back yet from those that own it. the cabin is 3 levels with the bunk beds, of which one of them i'll sleep in, is on the lower level. plenty of couches and floor space for cots and/or sleeping bags. since this cabin is also up for sale, i can't be for certain if the spare mattresses will still be in the cabin like they were last yr.

The Cabin is one of the most awesome cabins my wife and I have ever stayed in. I am rxtasy's best friend and we always come together and stay some where nice. This cabin just is so blazingly awesome words are hard to describe it. It has a kitchen and dinning that serves 20 and has three levels each with decks. The out door tub holds eight people at a time and is in great working condition. The cabin was constructed in 05 so everything is like new. The place is fully equipped as having gear in the basement like kayaks, bikes and fishing gear. We are looking to have the best time we ever had this year and would love to share our vacation with some other like minded people. We are down to earth and are not freaks or party to the point of not being in control, we are looking for this same type of folks, we are friends with everyone we meet who is cool especially . Our ages are in a range of 20 to 50. My daughter and boyfriend is coming and are the younger of our crowd of 5. I hope we can find the right cabin mates and make this years DGRR 2012 the memory of a lifetime. The bottom level has two bunk beds, sitting area, kitchette and laundry. So there will be plenty of space to not have to be around everyone all the time.

this is the link to my photobucket with pix from last yr and of the cabin, this is page 2. first page has the original cabin and was 3 bdrm but had issues with the water so the second cabin they put us in was just out of sheer luck.

we always have a great time when we go. it's the only vacation time i take during the yr where i actually go anywhere. and being that it takes place around my b'day, it's kinda like a 2 for 1 deal. as for who to send money to, if any money changes hands, we can settle that up then.

I talked to Nikki and Kevin this morning, it looks like they will be going. I told them they can pay you every week or so and in three months their part will be paid. The cost of $650 divided by 7 people will be $92.86 a person. So that's low enough to keep it affordable if no more than Rotary Kitten gets on board the rotary party bus. Sherry and I are very excited about this year. Its so very wonderful to have such a great crowd of people to look forward to keep coming back together with each year. I still have not met a disrespectful person at DGRR in all the times I've been, keep it up guys. Party On.

our plan was a stay from thurs - sun with sun being checkout. ur wanting to add wed to the stay with sun checkout or staying sun night too? my question is all these days going to be slit equal even if ur not actually using all or them? i just want to make sure everyone is happy with how this gets split up. if i get this reserved for wed night thru sat night and i can't get up there til thrus, would rotary kytten be ok with paying the remainder and then us settling up once we get there?

Anyone looking at rxtasy's photo bucket pics of the cabin needs to only look at the last three or so on page one and all of page two. The beginning pics on page one is the Fontana View Cabin we used to stay in

Well my partner in crime and I would be happy to join in the fun Wed - Sun (arrive wed and leave sun) if you have some floor space for two I could bring a queen blow-up air mattress and sleeping bags. I'm pretty laid back and this is my one big car trip that is strictly for cars and fun and debauchery and nothing else. If you have space and can find room we would love to join in the fun! Feel free to PM me...last year we met some great people and indeed didn't run into any jerks which was great! Be aware I will be in my 8 so don't be too jealous of my four doors This year I must get more video - I was so busy driving that I got next to nothing last year and hardly any pics - here is a lame-o clip I put together from last year - it sucks but it was what I had - 2012 must be even more fun! ok the total rental on this cabin is $1004.22 and $502.11 to reserve it which is more than i expected it would take to reserve it. so between the 7 of us it's looking like $143.46 each. let me know what u all think. now it's still early at this point so there might be more interest in the next few months.
and i thought the vid was pretty good.

well unless someone else chimes in here wanting to share this cabin it's going to be more expensive for everyone involved so far. the younger couple is now talking bout since they wont be coming up til friday, them just getting a motel when they get there. so now we're back down to 5 ppl. i've already reserved the cabin and the balance will be charged to my card 7 days before we're due to arrive. the price i posted is for 4 nights, 4/18 - 4/21, with checkout being sunday morning by 11am.

Michael,
We would only be there for Friday night and Saturday, but if you still have the need, count on me and my fiancee', Nicole to help out! If I read correctly, for 7 of us it would be right at $150. That will be no problem for us if you still have the space available.
I'm looking forward to getting back to the Gap; it's been WAY too long!

Looks like the party is building Micheal. Watched the video from last year of the cabin we are talking about. It has a futon bed in the upstairs gameroom and a sofa bed in the lower level sitting area. The kitchen has service for 14

How is the approach to the cabin? The cabin I stayed in last year was a bitch to get to (very steep gravel hill...didn't help that my motor blew up when I got there Thursday night...smoked my clutch...) I may be interested...need.to.get.FB.running.

^it's not bad at all. paved road all the way with short gravel drive up to the cabin. check the link i posted for pix. something there should give u an idea.
now for the issue that i had already thought about and has now been brought up. the cost posted(including split between 7 ppl) is for 4 nights(4/18-4/21). this is not a $50/night motel, it's one of the most expensive cabins that watershed cabins offers with amenities u wont have at a motel. since it's for sale, it's no longer under NVNC so the 1 free night doesn't apply. the more ppl involved the cheaper it is but if ur only coming for the 2 nights then u'll need to figure the split per night instead of per person.
if interested, post here and pm me with ur plans/nights stay and i'll reply back with address to send ur payment. i prefer MO or western union just to avoid paypal fees. make note with name and userID so i can keep track of who pays. already paid half to reserve and remaining balance will be charged to me 7 days prior to arrival.

I'll most likely be making a solo trip from St. Louis area. My 7 is in pieces at the moment but that'll change soon, just need to do work haha. I had a blast last year but spent more than expected on a room. I'll be spending most of my time driving through the mountains but who isn't haha. As for partying, I'm 30... my friends call me Spaz, you might catch the drift haha. I'm all for meeting new people and you seem like my kind of people.

we would be glad to have u join us if u don't mind sleeping on couch/recliner, or even floor if u have an air mattress. can't remember if any of the couches let out into a bed. there was a futon on the upper level where the pool table is. but an air mattress would probably make that sleep better. so far it's looking like we're getting back to the original 7 person split. can't remember how much room there is around the cabin but depending on the weather at that time those really into camping could put up a tent outside.
