Just look mostly in the 3gen section :)

I can say one really positive thing that is happening... The Mods are really stepping up and Mediating the FS threads.. If there are "Bad Guy" posts they are locking that person's thread, and holding them accountable.

Other then that, perhaps if IB would communicate with us WHAT the policy would be clearly we all wouldn't jump to conclusions...

Some people pick up parts cars to FUND their personal project, not to build a 19,000sqft facility to use to chop cars up.

I can't think of a Dime I have made here that wasn't pumped back into another member of this forum OR one of the Vendors that DOES pay vendor fees. Shine for example.. I turn my parts into more parts for my cars.. At this time I am saving for an FD which will probably be the BIGGEST money pit of all.. I plan to buy my car from SPEEDFORSALE (yet another vendor)...

I guess what we would like to see is WHO will be charged a fee, and a reason. I would be more then willing to pay a ONE TIME $15-$20 yearly fee to be marked as a "seller".. But not a vendor. I do not have a webpage to advertise, i just randomly sell/trade parts... Sure I would be a "contributor" if there were certain provisions. NON Contributors could not SELL in the classifieds. There would be a seller rating system. This would keep scammers down to a minimum, and hold "sellers" accountable.

I think that "vendors" could then post PERSONAL items FS in the classifieds.. Such as a set of 4 used s5 injectors for $25 shipped.....

Communication is key.

I like this idea a lot. I just dropped $500 for a clutch, $500 for a sunroof, and $1000 on rims in the span of two weeks here from individual sellers. Making people feel comfortable about buying/selling is a real concern to me. To some people $2000 is an exorbitant amount of money. I can take the hit, but some of these guys can't and they shouldn't be screwed because of a few bad apples. I think it's important to foster a close-knit community with people who are willing to help each other out. Selling odds and ends here and there is not about business sense/profit; it's about helping your fellow rotards out. It's about building a community with mutual respect, integrity, and pride in membership.

Unless you're a heavy hitter like Ramy or Ken (who do multiple GBs/sell numerous "high end" products), you'll never recoup the amount that would be payed in advertising. Definitions outlining "seller" "vendor" etc. is the only way to come to some sort of resolution.

Plus, I know for a fact that Kevin wasn't always selling stuff on here to make a profit. He gave me a spoiler for just the $20 shipping cost. If that's not devotion to the community, I don't know what is.

charlies7 02-28-08 10:27 AM

HAHA, when I got a SIGNATURE infraction for posting www.rotarycarclub.com in my sig was I linking myself directly to the "business"

Thanks for the info..

Apparently im a dealer because I buy FD's in bulk to part them and make 1 million dollars *scarasm* obviously..As icemark said people that buy 4 FD's and part them are hurting the community..Also he claims there is a "soul" to this forum...:rlaugh: What about the people just selling parts off of their car, changing their setup's..oh thats right "dealer" status again..There is no solid defination to "dealer" though.

On a serious note, I am curious to why you mods enforce the rules to a "T" now? Why not before, oh I forgot there wasnt enough people..Ryan was making his money before IB and the forum was operating fine. Now Ryan made even MORE money selling to IB and the forum sucks ballz. There will be a day when it crashes and burns..When its going to happen is the real question.

I would think that the admins/mods would want to try preventing this from happening. There is alot of useful information on here and I would hate to see it go to waste. However you guys are doing a great job for the inevitable:icon_tup:

Thats what IB doesn't get. The market isn't there in 2nd Generation parts. There is not enough profit in selling used parts on this board to justify 200 dollars a month in fee's. Most of the shit doesn't sell on here anyway. Thirdgen and JDM stuff I can see that stuff already having an inflated price.

rowtareh? 02-28-08 10:46 AM

:)

You could always leave, if you don't like it.

Nobody is stopping you.

jhammons01 02-28-08 10:47 AM

When some parts are increasingly hard to find, would a person going to the Junkyard and pulling out cars from there and offering the the parts here be a....

A). Thief
B). a person that is helping members find things that are needed.

And I'd like to add.....B. try finding some interior parts even from Mazda. They aren't available. OR a wiring harness for an FC....good luck wit dat

If A. is true then up till now, Icemark and dDub would be classified as a thief's. As I have purchased used parts from both.

And if you don;t like thief then use Icemark's comparison A Teacher that is Vandalizing the school or a lawyer that breaks the law.

Vandals or White Collar Criminals, Icemark and dDub.

Sure, you could say that was then and this is now. But I find it fascinating that what was OK for years is now labeled "criminal" and Ban worthy

Guilty? :uhh:

No, I don't want to waste my intelligence on this thread any further, some people don't seem to get the clue. Shit, except for the people that disbanded from here and went to RCC.

*** READ THIS ***

Things are getting out of control here. But I blame myself, I sold the sites and have since started other enterprises ... I haven't kept involved here like I should. I owe it to you all to make sure this wonderful community isn't torn apart.

I'm going to setup a Mod online conf call and work out some rules. I still set the rules, IB essentially follows my guidance. I'll also start a new thread with issues you want us to address in the conf call.
