Well said. Now, to use it to validate a point, I believe this is proper evidence that IB does not need to charge people who are not interested in status as a vendor, such as Kevin, for selling moderate amounts of parts.

well all i can say is im pretty sure this forum wont be going anywhere anytime soon. its just got such a amazing wealth of information and reliable servers to handle the traffic that its going to be immensely difficult to mirror without a company like IB to support unless members are willing to donate and someway to get at least a resemblance of the information here. the majority will stay bc the majority are not the sellers who are being locked from selling. we might lose valuable members like RR but info they've already posted will be here to stay and regular members shall continue to profit.

Newb... When Kevin Left, so did information he provided such as his rebuild thread (with pictures/link) and any information that he would have shared in the future..... It's not cut and dry. PLus you are so new you obviously weren't around when the forums crashed a couple years ago and lots of info was lost (fc3s)... As we all know servers are bulletproof....whatever..

I work for a HUGE worldwide company part of my job is maintaing the HVAC that feeds the server rooms, if i were to loose power for 15 minutes.. the servers would fry...

well, based on previous issues. A local guy was asked to remove his AOL address because it was a business. Another local guy had the same sig (to help out the other member) and HE was asked to remove it.

I know what can happen to me if I "step out of line" and it's not fun. The "LINE" differs from mod to mod so it's all about the capriciousness and immaturity of the person but, much like the VENDOR RULE, it's very vague . That's why there is no consistency anywhere but, at the same time, that keeps EVERYONE "in line" since nobody knows what can and/or can't be done.

As I said earlier, the info and response-time of this forum is worth the bullshit.

So, While it's a good sign of solidarity for Kevin we're just IPs that can be blocked and whose sigs can be deleted.

THe info posted here is FREE revenue for the IB staff. Do WE get paid for the writeups that draw people to the site??? NO. DO I ASK FOR $ for my contributions?? NO..

Of course the policy needs to change. Everyone who posts in the tech sections adds literature to the site, each thread has the ability to show up on google searches, ASk searches whatever, drawing people in... You post DONKEY BALLS in the lounge and it may show up on a search...

So what if Kevin Wants to sell me a rear seat for $50.. It Helped me out and I am sure that he made $.10 after labor to remove, ship, gas to the post office..

There is no "non-profit" consideration for the classifieds. This isn't about someones profit and loss report.

It would be difficult for anyone (especially someone in buysiness) to try and liquidate any sizeable amount of inventory without being noticed. Remember we are humans not machines we can read and understand context clues.

Your not going to be able to work in some loophole, because there isn't one. We review each issue on a case by case basis (much thanks to rx7doctor for that legwork) and when needed confer on what action to take, although some have much clearer paths than others.

I made a writeup the other day about modernizing s4 tails.. So far 4,226 views that is 4226 clicks to MY THREAD Adsense pays per click via an unknown ratio.. My BLOG makes about $5 per 1000 views.. So that would be about $20 they made off my Thread... hMmmm..
