would like a second opinion
My car smoke on acceleration (88 ..13b..N/A) so even though it has lots of power i am lookin at worst case scenario of rebuilding...is there anything i should be looking at to cause this smoking thing..besides what i'm thinkin is an oil seal..i would hate to rip apart a strong runnin engine and assemble it again and have the same problem ..smokin happened just after plug wire mishap>.(mixed up trailing..yakkin and not payin attention!)..input appreciated..and as always thanks in advance..DAVE

don't think it would foul your plugs if you reversed your trailings, but might as well check it anyways, doesn't cost you anything.
Also check your OMP (refer yo Haynes manual or FSM) and while your checking plugs check your compression.

guys ..ya I know it pulls and still pulls strong!! ..like teen on a ween!..haha..just smoke on acceleration..and that's just it ..that's the only time it does smoke ..and it's oil..smells like oil..I know what prestone smells like when it burns!!..the car was smokin before (to FC3S.USD)..because it had no cat..it turned out to be HOLLOW..(therefore it failed E-test)......i'll comp check again before i store it..if my engine turns out bad are any of the Ottawa guys interested in a REBUILD Party?...drinks snacks..bull ****!..I"ll provide it all!

I just recently took it out for a quick spin..and it doesn't smoke if you are driving "normal"..I did sort of rode the **** out of it that day..the car had really not been driven that hard so I'm doin a comp check as soon as my body says it's OK to do so..(bad back)..and ya MyRxBad..it was in the upper Rpm range ..After roughly 5500 or up..I was lookin out back more just to see if I could maybe find out if the car will be good enough for passing Emissions ..and she didn't puff ..so i still have the car..starts after 3 cranks ..every time no problem.. so I can't see me givin up on the old girl yet!..misterstyx69

does it smoke on a dead cold start at all?
I would almost reccommend having some one follow you to judge when/how thick the smoke is because I had a similar problem at one time but you can only see smoke behind you from inside the car if its REALLY ****** SMOKIN it might actually be buring mild blue the whole time you are driving......indicating again an oil seal.......but anyways, just some suggestions

UPDATE..comp check today ..100 front..95 rear..THREE good "whooshes" ...carbon?..hmmm?..thought of it!!..also thought maybe the engine was just not tuned right..and that would be..My fault!..snow to fall ..car tucked in..it will stay a mystery til spring!...thanks to all who posted replies..
