more xmas presents for the car !!! Just wanted to share some more stuff bought off ebay for the '79 .

A new (used from ebay) glass roof for the SA arrived and in very good condition. Also bought some black and chrome coloured "rotor" glue-on centers for the Caps on the 15" KONIG rims I bought . Got these from a flag place in Greece off ebay after another Forum member found them. They look pretty cool on the caps I think.

I didn't get any parts. My Family isn't cool enough to pimp my ride.
I did get some cash which im blowing on parts tho :P Trying to buy a FM off a guy on the forums, and I'm looking at getting a new hood.
As you can guess, my airtemps were pissing me off last year :P

VERY NICE mods to the body and paint . ( copied and attached below) If you are changing the engine like said on cardomain site , I hope you stay wankel in it though( no V8). My vote is go 13B turbo now you changed the lines of the car.

Where did you get that little spoiler ??? , I like it and may want something like it for the '79

I've got the '79 in for some bodywork and paint this winter and was having trouble deciding on going back to the stock metallic charcoal black (code E6) or going with a 83-85 brilliant black (code H1) . The stock colour was painted over with plain black before I bought it . While I like just plain black , I'm 90% sure I'm going back to the E6 charcoal metallic .

a comparison of the two colours is attached , stock (E6 code) on left ( other '79LE car), my car with current black paint (H1 code) on right

thanks! I'm fairly sure I will eventually go to a LT-1 w/5spd swap, since I have the motor already. But the 12A needs to die first. However it doesn't want to start for anything right now, so that may be sooner than expected... spoiler I made out of metal... took a bunch of pieces, but it worked, I have pics somewhere... I'll try to find them

well, if it isn't exhaust fog from -30 , its likely one of two things.

if you are losing coolant (buzzer goes off frequently) and smoke is whitish then you have a blown coolant seal in the rotor housing, driveable , but won't last long without a rebuild.

if you have blue smoke , it is probably a worn oil o-ring seal in one or both of the rotors and you will need a rebuild eventually. If you search for Lucas Oil treatment , you will read about putting this heavy oil in your crankcase to help reduce the smoking. Some say its a stupid thing to do , others say its great , especially for old engines. I have put it in my 79 on two occasions because an oil seal is gone and it has reduced the smoking considerably. If I start the car at least once a week it only smokes a liuttle on startup for about 20 seconds .

use the search function for Lucas, Seafoam, and Smoke

If the car seems to run fine and it's white smoke, it might be the intake gasket and/or o-rings (between intake and engine block). This was the case with my 12A rotary engine and I imagine the 13B would have the same issue. Cheap fix but a bit of a pain to do.
