ON Who's parting out 7s on kijiji ?

Because damn.... some of those prices.

I am looking for a few smalls things and he wants 100s of dollars or unreasonable requests like will only sell 3 S5 tails for 500$ ... not that I need those but just an example.

I know I know it's only worth what someone will pay for it and yes he has been reposting the same stuff for months now.

I guess I'll see if he lowers the prices after a few more months lol

I heard through the grape vine who it is supposed to be..But I won't state on this Forum.
I was told that at one time there were like 100's of ads up and all by the same person.

All I can say is if they think they are helping another fellow owner then I would hate to see what they do to enemies.
It's a big money grab...and if I need something I would rather get it from a dealer than a gouger.
At least the dealer has proven parts and new ones at that.

I may sell parts but If I don't need them and someone does I am not going to charge 80% of the value for them.
Meh..$400 TPS?....20 bucks..I don't need it..
It's a Car part,..not a freakin diamond encrusted heart defibrillator.
That is my thinking.Make people happy..they come back..friendly..
Not walk away feeling that their wallets got raped.

I asked about wiper switch for an S5 vert and I received and email back saying he will only sell the whole cluster+surround for 200...

Then I asked about battery box's and hold downs and was told there was a mint set for 130....

I'm pretty sure this is the guy that bought my old POS 88 vert from Orangeville. He was mad and complained that I didn't have the aluminum hood and missing a door for 200 bucks ... it even ran.

Try Jimmy's in the UK. I have bought a few used things from them and had them shipped to Canada. Their prices are very reasonable and their shipping prices are also very good and fast. Most of the things that I bought from them were cheaper than what I would have paid if I had bought the pieces in Canada or in the US. Shipping usually takes a week for most items.

Not sure where your going with this, but anyone can ask a price and its up to the buyer if they want to that X dollars for Y items.

If someone offers doesn't mean you have to accept it. IF you do, you agree, if not move on.

It goes both ways.

With that being said, there are some sellers on Kijii, listing used parts for what you could get new parts. Buyer beware!!

I agree with you completely. As i have stated in my first post its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

It's just a conversation starter piece for the forum.

I Love Kijiji... translated it means "here sucker..buy this".

Yep..people can post stuff at exorbitant prices but the only way that these guys get ANY money is for Unknowing people to buy the parts for what the seller wants for them.
Since we here are half knowledgeable about the worth of parts we look and say "Foly Huck" and shake our heads.
It's always nice to have some insight when cruising for parts but you can get the odd duck that will take advantage of others. That can't be helped. That is the way the ball rolls in this society now a days.Dog eat dog.
Some of us though have a conscience..so it's nice not to feed the dog and keep the treats for the cute puppies that deserve it!

*so sell me some cheap parts and I promise not to poop on your lawn..lol!

There is a reason people price their stuff high on Kijiji. Low ballers heaven.

People who price high on Kijiji, I don't even bother responding to; conversely, I've sold a number of things, including cars on Kijiji, and I priced them fairly, and they generally sold fairly quickly - and generally for asking price. So, I guess if you want to sit on things for a long time waiting for the right sucker to happen along, that's fine, but how naive do people have to be to think things like their five-year old laptop or 25 year old RX-7 in moderately good condition are going to sell for the same prices as new items? Don't they at least browse the category for a few minutes to get an idea of what similar items are asking?

I'd just as soon get cash in hand, and get stuff I don't need out of my basement or my garage.

And for those who think they should get new-prices for their old crap, forums exist to mock them!

You know what it is.. it's people that think old cars + low production numbers = automatic big $$$$$ for the prices people ask for parts I could buy a whole donor car. High prices automatically deter me or another buyer from ever dealing with them.

But don't worry I have a 1971 Gremlin exhaust gas in a jar waiting to cash in on .... maybe the bucket of rust from my last 7s worth something, original Mazda steel

Somewhere around here, I have the original invoice for my RX-7 - $28,500, iirc - for an NA. About the same price as I could pick up it's most equivalent successor in the market place - Toyota FRS/Subaru BRZ. Pretty spendy back then - but not justifying $12,000 this dude is still asking for his '86 GXL after months, as Pnoy posted a while back... RX7 BARN FIND 1986 ORIGINAL OWNER CRAZY!!! | classic cars | City of Toronto | Kijiji

But then, my first laptop, bought in 2002, was a Compaq 14" w/400 mhz Athlon processor, iirc, ran about $2200 bucks, and it struggled mightily to play Call of Duty. And you'll see people trying to sell their old, formerly expensive stuff like that for $500 bucks when you can buy a new, low end laptop that would run rings around it for less. Depreciation is lost on some people.
