Question Who gave this RX-7 to a wrecking yard???

Anyone give a 79-80 RX-7 to Dover wrecking yard in Chatham, Ontario? Grey in colour, has no engine or tranny and the interior is pretty much destroyed. Just basically wondering if it was someone on this board or just someone that hasn't found this board yet. I'm still looking for more interior parts and this car had what I needed when it was still sitting outside near the road.

Off topic, but is that a u-pick-it yard?

It seems that the pricing is considerably better in those. Every part I've checked into, at full serve yards, if I added another 15% I could get brand new. Last part I looked into were trailer tow mirrors for the p/u and I couldn't justify buying scratched ones when I could add a few dollars more and get brand new.

Ya, its kinda both. If you request something, they can pull it, but you can also pull the parts yourself. I got a choke cable and **** off the 79 and a throttle cable from a TII that they had all for $30. I offered $20 but they thought that was cheap. Oh well, I figure $30 is a bargain for both parts.

There is nothing of real value left on the 79. Basically just the glass and a couple misc parts that are actually in OK shape.

Oh ya, I should mention that if anyone needs S4 parts, I can probably get a couple things. They have 3 S4's and 1 S5 out there. Two of the S4's have seized engines, the third I didn't check, and the TII engine and tranny are gone. Interior parts are generally in OK shape. The one S4 is actually a mostly complete car with a grey exterior/interior.

it really depends on your haggling ability and who you talk to.

Damn shame, because I can get my dad excellent deals on cars when dealing with sales staff but when it comes to these guys, they just don't care about the lube!

Debating the price with the guys at an auto wreckers is pretty much useless, unless your real good. I offered them $20 for the two cables, but they wouldn't take it. This wrecking yard is a ripoff anyway. They wanted $80 for a 2nd gen leading coil and ignitor assembly. I even tried haggling them down, but it didn't work. They wanted that $80 and they weren't going to budge.

really?

I tend to have pretty good luck...
I usually make a REAL lowball offer, they counter, and we work something out near what I wanted to pay in the first place.

I also noticed that if you don't like the price, ask someone else!

I needed 4 donut tires a year or so ago, one guy said $10 each which I thought was kinda pricey but I needed them badly, so I went and grabbed 4 that would work, saw a different guy at the counter, asked "how much for these" he said I could have 'em! so I threw them in the car and booked it before anyone noticed.

Because it cost them nothing to hook a new customer. And they know that once you're hooked you'll be buying an 8!

NEVER EVER GO TO BRANTFORD MAZDA!!!!1!!!one!!!

The one on the north side of cambridge/south side of kitchener isn't all that far from you and are 10000x better to deal with, they still suck though.

brantford mazda still owes me money.

Any dealership sucks. I ordered door and window weather stripping from Banks Mazda in Charing Cross, about 15 min away from me, and the parts never came in and they also tried to rip me off on them with the prices they were asking. It took the guy half an hour just to find the part numbers in the first place. I called them numerous times, and after 8 months of waiting, I just gave up.

sounds like what happened to me.

I ordered a 10AE shift boot from lallo? mazda in brantford, they said OK its a special order so we need a down payment, 20% of $240+ tax, it was $55.62 I think.

Annyways... I waited for it, after like 3 weeks I went htere and they still didn't have it, waited another 3 weeks.... still didn't have it, said screw this, I want to cancel the order and I want my money back, it's been 6 weeks and you still can't even tell me when it'll be here.

So they said sure, hold on a moment.. he got the manager, the manager said sure we can cancel your order, do you have the reciept for the down payment? I didn't have it on me and he said just bring it in and you can have your money back.

So I came back the next day with my reciept and I was informed that special order deposts are non-refundable.. asked to speak with the manager and he wasn't there.. I got pretty upset at this point... ANYWAYS... I still don't have my money.. sorry for rambling on.
