Wheel refinishing shop recommendations

My stock rims are probably getting pretty ratty... my daily driver has 16-year old stock cast alloys (tire went flat in the summer because of corrosion at the bead) and my FD is running on 8-year old stock RX-8 wheels.

Any suggestions for an economical refinisher in the north/central Toronto area? If I end up getting the Volk Racing G25 Prisms, I might need a fix sooner rather than later (no more automated car washes or parallel parking shenanigans)

Only 1 place I use. Carcones. I had my winter wheels for my Miata fixed this season. 7yrs of brutal canadian winters were starting to get to the poor wheels. Came out nice and fresh.

Thanks! I'll give them a call when the time is right. I had one wheel refinished under insurance when the DD was rear-ended many years ago, but the other three didn't get any TLC.

The salt belt winter is brutal on any wheels.

After my recent experience at Leprecon I would not consider anyone else. They salvaged a two piece rim of mine that was otherwise garbage. The experts said it can't be done! I had Carcones and some other place tell me that it was unrepairable. Joke. Go see Max and tell him Tony Rx-7 sent you. http://www.leprecon.ca/rim-repair

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll give Leprecon a call too when I am ready to fix the rims (one more brutal winter... the FD is going into storage mode).

Did you ever get your rims refinished?

Nope... I got new tires for my daily driver, so the money went to rubber instead of alloy. I'm also changing the tires on the FD, so it will be a while before I can save up for rim polishing.

I know someone who is selling a brand new set of FD rims for $400.
Let me know if interested.

Carcone's is pretty experienced. They do a good job. Sometimes it's downright impressive what they're capable of.
