Whats up!

Hey everyone. This being my first post and all, I'd like to say whats up to all the canucks on here.
My name is Sergey and I live in Calgary. I used to have a mildly modded 97 GTP which I really liked and will miss. But now being in a market for a new vehicle, I'd like to do some research on the Rx7. Love the looks and the concept of the vehicle, biggest concern being the reliability of it, so I'm here to learn. If anyone wants to talk in person, shoot me a PM and will go for a beer or 6.

Cheers,

So generation of car are you looking at? (1st 78-85, 2nd 86-91, 3rd 93-95)

Well, you're not off to a very good start. Most people cant justify paying LESS than 20K for a good FD.

Welcome to the club....

If you have only 15k to spend and nothing else to maintain a vehicle, then I suggest you look at the 2nd generation Rx-7 as the 3rd generation can be a bit finicky if not taken care of or mofied properly. Seeing as you are in Calgary, the Rx-7's seem to fetch a higher price, so a 15k FD will only give you headaches.

Welcome to the club! If you are looking to buy an Rx - keep an eye on the Classified forum.

There is a great FD for sale in your neck of the woods:

Problem is that it's not as cheap as you are looking for! As people have said, while you may find a $15K FD - chances are it will be a money pit.

thats where my 15g figure came from. But from what the guys said, it could be a money pit.
