LMAO!! @ jim

hey wankels revenge, how are those seats treating you?

classicauto: why'd you give up on the e8??? (only asking cause I have one!)

Winter plans:

pick up my engine, put it in car, tune it, store it, take it out for DGRR!

It sounds so simple, why is it so hard to do?

I'm not. I'm giving up on the E6X. As it right now, I've put 1000kms on my personal rebuild and haven't been easy on it either. Had no trigger issues, running well *again*.........then this morning on the way to Tim's BAM trigger issues. ******* tired of this bull ****. Clean trigger signal day in day out should NOT be this hard to achieve and its not like I haven't tried to fix it. Done everything under the sun plus some illogical voodoo type stuff. Even an infamous "name brand" tuner couldn't solve the problem.

So moving on.......

I hear you, if only Microtech could keep their promises and offer some decent resolution.....

My Winter Plans

I will break it down for both cars and my tow vehicle:

1) #23 GTB ex CCTCC RX7 - not a lot to do on this car as it is race ready

- clean up car
- install new fuel pump system (255 lph and larger lines)
- replace time dated harness
- try to put together a program for somebody else to race the car (mad cheep deal)

2) #75 or something else ex Speed TC Cougar - still a lot to do on this car

- clean up car
- Primary engine check over, including compression check, leakdown check and oil check
- change suspension set up
- assemble spare engine after ordering Cometic custom headgaskets and ARP Head studs. Also need to check bottom end
- revise oil line system to improve flow and reduce temp rise
- replace time dated harness
- have clear coat redone and add new graphics (picture below of Blue/White)
- change to spare Houseman gearbox and rebuild Quaife dog box
- tidy up interior
- testing plan to develop car to allow driver to run 1:32's at Mosport

3) 1976 F250 460CI Tow Vehicle "Moose" - Needs to be reliable again

- new plug wires
- develop new tune
- replace fuel pump with electric system
- finish body work
- repaint
- add original trim back on truck
- replace exhaust from headers back
- add interior trim
- new tires and wheels if budget allows

Thats it, only a couple of weekends work, LOL. Any help would be appreciated.

Eric

This winter.

-Remove all vacuum lines and change over to threaded earls or solid. 25psi pops lines!
-Consider Autronic 500R (Pending usa dollar value)
-remove apexi avcr and have E8 closed loop control

Major project is have spare engine built and sitting on engine stand.

I hope to get some engine work done on the '79 this winter by RPM. and add a Racing Beat header and presilencer to it . I am going to try and rebuild the carb (1st time ) with a kit I bought last winter.

Nothing on the '89, just put it away this weekend.
Not really a big fan of the half front bumper, I would take the aero over the half anyday. As I mentioned, i'll be getting the greddy fmic as well so the aero bumper gives that extra little gap in the bumper for cooling. If i'm spending $1.1k on an intercooler I want it to be as efficient as possible. This car is what had me set on the aero bumper, its gorgeous.

Great thread.
- install Autopower 4 point roll bar
- 5 point harness
- finish body work on passenger side (the incident which caused my wife to think the roll bar was a great idea)
- rebuild brakes (annual event)
- finish reworking the ECU

It will never end Frank.....
By the way people if you have any interest in attending a exceptionally run track event at the “big track”, check out Frank’s track day at Mosport in the spring, post #35.

LOL - I should have clarified that it may slow down! All this season my ECU has been sitting with the cover off as I've had the chips in and out so frequently. I'm hoping that next season it'll be bolted in place!

The big track event at MIR is booked. Link is in my signature too. I'll post up a new thread for 09 in a couple of weeks.

Back to the thread, I'm considering Hankook Z214's for my track tire.

Put an S54 (2004 M3) engine in the (unfinished) racecar...

Wow, uh, that would be easy......

If I may ask, why an M3 motor. It would be cheaper, easier and faster to put in a (gasp) Ford V8 or (bigger gasp) a small block Chebbie. Kits are available for both and transmissions are almost bolt up now.

All I can say is I wish you the best of luck.

If you don't want the wing, I might take it off your hands during winter

[QUOTE=23Racer;8697145]Wow, uh, that would be easy......QUOTE]

It was just something I was considering as I came across an affordable donor powerplant. But since it requires an M800 to run the Vanos system I'm passing. I'm sure the motor Joe is building for me will run two seasons anyhow!

My list...

Install AWR rear trailing arm bearings
Install powdercoated TII front sway bar with new ES bushings and RB adj. links
Fit RE FC2000 side skirts, cannards, and fab up light covers to accept the RE intake
Clean up the shell, prep new body parts already added and shoot it white
Research rubber to install on my two sets of vert rims to get me started next season
Finish installing gauges and running the lines
Install Haltech and prep for Steve Kan tune in the spring

1- Fix drivers side door lock (would be nice to be able to lock the car when I park somewhere)
2- Fix fuel level gauge (I haven't run out of gas yet ... YET!)
3- Springs & Shocks (probably koni yellows & eibach pro-kit)
?- New clutch, pressure plate & flywheel (depending on $$)
?- Racing Beat dual tip catback

I wont have as much spare $$ to play with this spring as my daily driver is off lease in March and I intend to buy it since the kms are so low on it.

My FD just arrived from Japan, been driving it for just over a week now. It's pretty much stock except for the apexi dunk megaphone exhaust. Thankfully we've had a mild spring so far otherwise I would have had to put it away already.

I already bought an aluminum ast. If it's nice out this weekend I'll probably throw it on.

Then I'll be waiting on the sale of my old car. Once it sells I'll probably pick up oil temp, water temp and boost gauges and a pfc.
