what to do ?

well this si the story ... im embarking on a mild resto of a 81 gx .. but the carb badly needs a rebuild ... what im wondering is what is done usualy?... a rebuild ... or is there an after market carb that i dont know about ?... somthing that would make this as easy as possible without pulling the engine any feedback would be great ... i feel terrible i have no answers for this friend of mine lol .. thnx in adsvance4

Didn't Dufourmike just Rebuild a carb?..he near you?..Carbs are Easily Rebuilt.New ones,well they are a little more Money.If you are thinking aftermarket Carbs,I would get Some suggestions as which one would suit your application.I've heard that holleys are Crap.You might get some better Feedback posting in the First Gen Section,too.Not tryin to "knock" the Canadian Forum But you will get more of a "variety" of Replies as the Canadian Forum only has So many People that Reply,and 'cruise it" .Best of luck.(also Yes you can rebuild the carb without Pulling the Engine..Comp testing it too,while you are at it,before you pull the carb off..never hurts)
