What can I ask for this 88 RX7?
I need your advice on this. This is not my car, I'm doing this as a favor to one the assistants at work. She's retiring in about 6 weeks so she doens't need this or even drive it that much. She just wants to know what to ask for it when she sells it.
Here are some of the specs (in her own words), she will try to get me some pics soon. I haven't seen the car but I can forward any serious inquiries to her.
- Mazda RX7 Turbo 1988 model, purchased in April 1989
- Manual transmission
- Red with grey interior
- Approximately 48,000 kms
- Sun roof
- No air-conditioning
- Only run one winter - remaining winters off road from November to April in climate controlled storage
- New radio/CD player 2004
- New exhaust system September 2005
- One set of summer tires and one set of winter tires
- One careful lady owner (who knows how to drive a sports car!!!!!)
Thanks

wow, that could be one very CLEAN car.
the ASKING price for a car like this could range anywhere from $5 to $10 k, depending how mint the body really is.
oh and, uh, pd_day must like them old!
(only assuming since she is RETIRING, lol)

Thanks guys...I should get some pics either tomorrow or the day after...if she remembers. I've gotten a few PM and they are ranging from $5K to $7.5K. She says that there is no rust in the car at all and all work has been done by the dealership.
Does anybody have access to the Blue Book to see what the selling price is?

blue book is usually bullshit for these cars.
you are selling to a very specific market of people, more or less looking for RX-7s.
take a look at autotrader or car classifieds, and if there are other turbo RX-7s with similar mileage and condition description, look at those for the "market value".
if there is no rust, no accidents, and paint is good, then i bet she could put it up for $10k.
although at that price it may take a while to sell, and of course she would need to leave some room for bargaining...

Thanks for all the input. She has put it in storage for now. She says she's pay for it so it might not be till next summer till she sells it. Unless there's an offer with some cash.
thanks again
