What About This Team Logo??????
I had a friend mess around to develop a team Logo that would be used on our equipment, shirts and website. Keep in mind that the type of vehicle will change depending on what car I will be racing.
I will keep my opinion to myself, but comments would be appreciated. Just keep it clean, LOL.

Keep Them Coming!
I don't want to add a rotor as the other car doesn't have rotors (flamesuit on), other than 12" brake rotors.
The other comments are interesting and I would like to hear some more.

Personally I find the addition of "wings" or animals attractive... think Aston Martin Racing or Ferrari... Let's see Eric's representing animal could be a... Bulldog?
I'll let other people chime in...

Here's my 2 cents. Maybe take that circle on the top left corner and make it a Tire and rim, maybe lowprofile tire on a black rim with chrome lip, then make the background white with red leters or try making the rim chrome then make the background black and the letters white.
Also you could try making the entire logo a different shape instead of just rectangular.
Then maybe even take that same shape and make yourself a smaller logo with your name or company name in it for stickers and hats or something. Make it your own signature shape or design
Just throwing some ideas out.

Well, I was going to suggest change the pale blue ring to a stylized rotor shape a-la the Speedsource RX-8's and Mazda Motorsports sponsored cars, but I see that's been brought up and shot down. Although the logo already does specifically incorporate the Mazda RX-7 name Maybe if it also added an element alluding to a piston engine; such as a piston, a valve, or even a V(6) badge?
I think the simplicity of the design is a plus, busy logos do not foster recognition, just people squinting and asking themselves "what the hell is that supposed to be?". I do think it could use something to convey more sense of action - a stylized rim/tire in place of the ring could work, if it's kept clean and simple, preferably conveying a sense of motion. The ring and smaller circles do currently convey a sense of representing something vaguely technical - I shared the initial impression Dom mentioned that it could be the cover of a service manual. But that could be an engineering firm as easily as a racing team.

This is Great. Keep Them Coming.
Great comments. I really appreciate the help and am taking down the advice. I do like the comments on the vague technical nature and the need for simplicity of the present one as that is what we are looking for. The need to improve the logo's ability to grab you is important as well.
The overall shape is not a concern and shouldn't distract you guys. It was done for the cover of a sponsorship proposal and I thought it needed some more kick. For embroidary on uniforms, on-car graphics, etc.... it will be adjusted in size and shape to suit.
I really appreciate the time taken and seriousness of response from all of you and I will show you guys the revised version in a couple of weeks. Cheers to all of you.
