Westcoast/Canada West Rotary Activity Thread
Perhaps a Westcoast or Canada West Thread has been started before, but I can't find it after a short search. BCRotary was a prior attempt. There is now Westcoastrotary.com, but looking at it does not reveal the highly active scene here. We have a chat, however, that has over 60,000 posts in the last two years. I am hoping some of the activity could spill out to the Canadian scene more broadly. And that is the purpose of starting this thread.

The loosely associated westcoastrotary.com group of owners is largely "BC Lower Mainland" based although we have participants from the interior and Alberta. The group had a very successful Sevens Day gathering in 2015 which revealed a good number of owners and a need for interaction. Our 2016 Seven's Day was also successful despite its more spontaneous organization, and a terrific rainstorm. Pictures of both those meets have been posted elsewhere in the Canadian Forum.

Grassroots in Western Canada
The pictures above reveal the somewhat "grassroots" nature of our group. We actually have a wide range of participants, from long-time owners of low mileage Canadian spec LHD cars to all manner of built, unbuilt and to-be-built RHD imports. A quick review of my amateur snaps from the last year or so identifies about 45 individual FD locally, although I am certain there are dozens more. We frequently spot cars unfamiliar to our group.

Byrne Road
This shot was at one of the last full scale meetings at "Byrne Road" (aka "Market Crossing"). Meets on Thursday nights had grown to as many as 800 regular participants. But the mall owners moved to shut it down at the start of last summer. These meets were tremendous grassroots level gatherings with "any and all" cars welcomed. A troop of super built hummers was one of the last highlights. The result was a partially lost summer with bands of tuners rooming the streets looking for a replacement, and being shooed away by disinterested mall owners.

So far, its an early build 1993, non runner at the moment, but that looks mainly due to electrical. 170k km, red, touring, mt, fairly stock with a full stainless ex and downpipe, newish looking megan coil overs, brand new (not even bedded in) brakes all around. Body is about 6/10 right now.

Little Dings
Looks great regardless. A good preservation project car with big reward for your efforts to come no doubt.
Precision Dent Repair did a great job working out the collected little dings on my car. Eight hours work for $800. Panels looked "showroom" when they were done. Well worth it.
When the times comes, perhaps we can do a group buy ding-out session.

D*mn the Salt Meet Feb 2th
Despite the municipalities going nuts with salt tonight in anticipation of possibly four days of snow, we pulled off a flash mini-meet to get out on a minus 5C night and touge by the light of the moon.
We hung out at Ironwood for an hour then roared out through "the tunnel" to Montana's at the new mall in Tsawassen.
